Johnnny, I’m with you too! Waiting for a decision.

This is the moment, I’ve been waiting for! (I hope I get an acceptance )

Invic, I wish we could bottle whatever it is that you have! You’re a real gem.

Well I got bad news. I called Columbia and they tild me that my app is completed and that a decision was mailed last week. But when I called Fedex they told me that nothing is heading my way. It looks like the end of the road for me. (playing the hulk end song from the original tv show)

Man down man down ! Lol this def suctions! But hey life goes on. And a drink to all those who got In. And good luck with this new journey!

for those of you interested in your decision, just call GS. I spoke with them today and was told they need my grades for this semester to make a decision.

Best of luck to all of you!

Does anyone know when the deposit has to be in by? I plan on sending it next wednesday but just making sure.

Thx Hellojan! … I need to save some of that sparkle, if in case I get some bad news, then I will have some spark to cheer me up

…Well I have finals and have to focus so I dare not call GS for any info, I am scared it will be too much to bear! :o . I will be going Dark for this week and if I hear anything about my outcome, I will return and let you guys know. In the meanwhile, Adieu my fellow forumers and I pray for an acceptance. Wish me luck :)

@phillyman, so its me and you that they need grades from. I feel better knowing im not alone. I hope this means that if the grades are good = acceptance…

Sucks to hear Brohlijk…

Thanks James, congrats to you too!!

@hellojan that actually sounds really helpful! So the distinction is more on the pastoral side of things which is actually a fantastic idea. At my previous uni the support network was terrible. The tutors were not used to dealing with many mitigating circumstances and therefore were totally unequipped to help students who had more non-traditional backgrounds eg. Students who doubled up as carers for ill relatives, or students who needed to live at home or students with children etc. It sounds like GS really has thought this program through!

Thanks Invictvs and everyone else for your warm encouragement to try again.

I recieved an email today asking for a 10-min interview, which I had in the morning. How decisive are these interviews??

Also, one of the things I was asked was if I would be equally happy at CC, because I am “borderline” non-traditional. Is that a thing? Can I be accepted to CC even if I applied to GS? Can my application be passed to CC’s pool of applicants?

@ CuNyu2011 sounds like they used reverse psychology or something and used CC as a trick question to see how committed to GS you are.

The interviews are used to help make a decision on borderline candidates. So, it’s really important.

I’ve never heard of an application being pushed to CC. Even if they were considering something like that, it would’ve had to have happened weeks ago. The incoming CC class is full - as are transfer spots.

I think they were just trying to test your fit. How did you answer?

I said that I knew I was not the typical non-traditional student because of my age (19). I was in college for 1 1/2 yrs and I’ve been working full time for a year now. I actually consulted them as to where should I apply, CC of GS, beacuse I was eligible to both and they recommended GS.
She asked if I would be equally happy at CC, if offered admission. I said that I was looking forward to GS because of the people ( different experiences, backgrounds, etc) but that of course I would be happy at CC too because, after all, you DO take the same classes, and academically it is basically the same.

I am not sure this is what they wanted to hear…

Tbh I think you answered the question really diplomatically! Don’t bear yourself up anymore! Like I said I had my interview on tuesday and I didn’t think it went too well but then received acceptance on Friday and my package found it’s way across the Atlantic this morning :)

Be positive and don’t give up hope :)

Just had to come by and say Heyyyyy Hooooo – Heyyy Hoooo!! Lol Morning ALL

@ Bro, my friendly neighborhood forumer,
It totally sucktions to hear that!
BUT you never know until you actually get the BLUE in the mail.
Plus, you should have received it Saturday or even Monday if they mailed it on Friday last week (???), US Mail takes a one-day lead from NY to NJ, so you never know! If you do get the BLUE, let me know if you don’t mind, cause then I know, I’d probably be sentenced to the same fate :(

Firstly,

Congratulations all of you who’ve been admitted!

I’m wondering, for those of you who have been given the green light, have you begun your transfer evaluation process? If so, how has it gone thus far?

Thanks everybody! I’m super stoked!

I signed up for the May 26th APS session and all the subsequent activities before hand. When do you guys think I’ll be notified to meet with the Financial Aid office? I signed up for the Financial Aid session before the APS session, is that considered it?

Also how many credits are you guys planning on taking and will you be working? I’ve been doing 14 credits and working part time at my last school and was thinking of doing the same.

Congrats to everyone else who got in!
