[As new student, how can I set up a UNI/email ID?](<a href=“Service Desk | Columbia University Information Technology”>Service Desk | Columbia University Information Technology)

Pro-tip: Set up a gmail account with your uni as the alias. Cubmail is so bad that not even the professors use it.

How long did it usually take for you to hear from the school from the time you finished EVERYthing they required?

I was told six-eight weeks from the time parts I and II of the application is completed, and all supporting documents such as transcripts are received and processed by the institution.

However, there were people that were notified of a decision within two-four weeks.

hellojan: many thanks for the link. i got my UNI and cubmail all set up.

one more question: where is the forwarding menu in cubmail? i’d like to forward my material to an existing gmail account.

nevermind, i managed to figure it out. it is under “Manage my UNI” on the cubmail login portal.

another great link. thanks hellojan.

I GOT IN!!!

I just recieved and email from my interviewer!! I am soo excited!!!

SAT(taken Dec. 2010): 2020 (CR:690, W:620, M:710).
Submitted an artistic portfolio.

Hi everyone, I found this forum yersterday and I read through everything until 4am today. You guys are amazing. Really hoping that we all get accepted and have chance to know each other. I’m applying for this fall and I sent everything in but it’s been almost two weeks and the online tracking system still says pending/not processed, is that normal?

I’m really worried because the four-six weeks window decides how am I going to spend this summer…

I’m with you tony. They want this semesters grades. I need summer school, and depending on my decision, and decision to go if admitted, determines what i’m taking over summer. bummer that summer school at my current institution starts one week after finals are over :(

Well, I regret to inform everyone that I got ‘the letter’ in the mail today… Not the one you wanna see… It really gets me upset, but hey, there’s nothing more I could’ve done @ this point… I have a 3.97 GPA and had a hell of an interview. The only thing was, I fooled around a lot in high school and when I started college 9 years ago… It took a long time for me to realize that what I was doing was stupid, but in 2008 I corrected everything and started living up to my potential… Apparently, though, it wasn’t enough… It’s ok, though. This rejection will fuel my motivation to prove to everyone that I belong that much more. Because I know I do. And who knows, maybe in some twisted ironic way, I’ll end up being better off going somewhere else… I’ve always wanted to live down in Miami, so I’m thinking about the U of M next spring… I’ve lived in New York City all my life, and I’m sick and tired of the weather, the traffic, the public transportation negligence… Oh well… To all you guys in this forum, you guys are great. Continue doing what you’ve been doing, and I’m sure all your dreams and aspirations will come true… And I hope one day we can cross paths again… Until then, au revoir and best of luck in all you hope to accomplish in your lives.
