Hi everyone,

As you might have read I am on the waitlist for the Fall 2011...

I've been doing some research and all I found is that there is less than 100 students taken, which is around the 2% of people who are on the waitlist.

My stats are very vague because I could not find anything very conclusive...

Does any one of you have more info?

Are you also on the waitlist?

Thanks!

Do you mean that GS accepts each semester 100 students and that the waitlist includes 5000 people? lol
More seriously I didn’t understand this stat. Do you mean that on the (less than) 100 students admitted at GS semesterly, 2% of which were placed on the waitlist and eventually got in? (which would be… 2 persons only).

Courage ;)

that’s my point :-p

nothing makes really sense and there are a bunch of different statistics everywhere…

I called them but they told me they “didn’t know” (= wouldn’t tell)
All they repeated was that I’ll know the 8th of August. Like really?!

It’s not like I have a job and a life and people who are actually waiting on my to make plans/decisions… I know I know! CGS is über crazy important but I just want to know and move on.

arf.

and thanks eiffel75 for your encouragement and your “bonne humeur”

I’ve been volunteering as an orientation leader and I can tell you that the incoming classes have been between 175, which was the smallest I’ve seen in five semesters, and more generally around 350 students.

The spring term tends to be smaller. As for the wait-list, I wouldn’t be able to speak to that.

hellojan, Thank you very much! Let’s hope that because this year’s class is smaller there will be more people taking off the waitlist ;-)

As I understood transfer students can’t apply for the Spring semester. Anyway, no matter what, I will enroll for classes for the Fall 11. I want to be done with my bachelor degree as soon as possible so that I can move on to my Masters and maybe PhD…

Do you know if we can appeal the admission committee decision if we’re not accepted?

Thanks again for the info!

transfer students can apply for spring

An appeal only works if some portion of your application has been misrepresented - if test scores got mixed up, letters of recommendation were missing, etc. So, you can ask to review the information to make sure that they made their decision based on the right scores and documents.

You can’t, however, appeal a decision with hopes that they’ll reconsider and see things differently. If that was possible selective schools would have to triple their staff and budgets to handle the number of appeals.

Bump!

No news for you mademoiselle? :)

no news. still waiting.

At this point I’m like “whatever”
I just want to be done with all this. Just 4 days left.

anyway, tomorrow I’m going on vacation. I’m finally gonna get rid of this “computer tan” for a good Florida tan! :-)

Lol, enjoy with your loved one and best of luck Keep us posted!!
