Fall 2012 Acceptances

Anybody been accepted yet for 2012?

Yup, Accepted 8/13 and got the admit package today.

First & most importantly, congratulations!
Could you explain your post?
Did your online status change on Aug. 13th, and it took them a month to mail your package?

Oh my bad. I meant Sep. 13. So it only took a few days to get my admit package.

Thanks for the clarification. Again, congrats!

Congrats on your admission, as a parent of a senior, I am sure that is a tremendous relief to you.

How long would you say the turn-around was on your application, from submission of counselor rec and test scores etc to acceptance?

We heard at an information forum that they were suggesting there could be a 4-8 week turn-around from complete file to admission decision.

Again, congrats!

Thanks, yeah it’s nice. I received the email notifying me of my admittance about 3 weeks after everything was submitted.

Son received his electronic acceptance yesterday. Given when he asked his counselor to submit his transcript, I think IU had everything by about Sept. 9 or so. We now will wait for the envelope to arrive.

My son received his email acceptance today. He applied on August 10 and his high school transcript was sent in on August 26th. Now the scholarship applications await!

Here is an update on how IU notifies prospective students on admission decisions. As I posted a few days ago, IU notifies students first on their OneStart accounts. The day it changed to Congratulations!, it did not indicate automatic scholarship information or anything about the selective scholarship application. I checked a couple of days later–still no information in his OneStart account. We knew he was eligible for an automatic scholarship and, based on the Hutton Honors criteria, should receive the selective scholarship application. I thought we would just need to wait until the “envelope” arrived for confirmation. I was checking my own OneStart account this am and decided to check son’s account also. On his OneStart homepage is a “to do” list. This list indicated the pieces of the SSA that need to be completed. This was also in his Student Center to do list. I did not find a way to access the application or needed forms though. If I correctly recall from our D, she received a website address or code or something to access it. I may look around more later, but I wanted to post this information for students and parents.

Thank you for that detail. As a parent, I check my son’s OneStart obsessively – not sure he even knows it exists. I did notice this week, on the Admissions status, it went from showing that his application was submitted to now showing his prospective major and college, as well as actual date his on-line app was submitted (though school report etc went in much later). Am hopeful this means his app is being processed presently and he will get an answer soon.

Good luck to everyone!

My D one start shows her app date too but does not mention her ACT or transcipt being there or not? Anyone know if they actually tell you it was received?

They do not tell you when your act or transcripts are received.

So the status application never confirms the recipt of transcripts or SAT scores? It just says they recieved app on the date and next time it will just show an acceptance or deny??

Yeah, they just update the decision.

has anyone heard yet? i guess there willbe a facebook page started

My status is changds on Onestart, so I am in. Hopefully it will not be where I end up, but nice to have the option.
Still waiting for IUPUI.

For those wondering how you would know if IU had not recieved your test scores – it does show up on One Start. I have been checking for my son, and last week it showed his preferred major and college so I was hoping that a decision would be coming. This week, in the text box below that info, it said that his scores have not been received (even though they were ordered months ago).

So, while you don’t get confirmation that they have been received, it will show up on One Start if they do not have them.

We have a one start account. Where do you navigate to to check. I am not finding anything when I log in. Are there tabs you clicked?

Sign in to One Start; you get a main page with a larger SIS logo near the top. If you don;t get that page, look on the left links for “Student Self Service” and that is where you start.

Directly under the SIS logo there is a link for “Go to Student Center;” click on that and it brings up a new page specific to your applicant. At the top, there is a lot of info about non-admissions stuff. Keep scrolling down until you get to "admissions box; click on the “status” link, and it pulls up another page where it shows your application status. That is where I saw the text that they didn’t have his test results. It was reassuring that, the same day that notice appeared on One Start, my son got an email saying his test results were not in.
