Fall 2012 applicants who are still waiting on admission decision

I cannot speak for all majors (impacted or otherwise), but I received this email today which may put things into perspective:

“ANIMAL SCIENCE & ANIMAL HEALTH SCIENCE APPLICANTS–The first group of students to be offered admission into these two programs have already been notified. Additional offers for additional students may or may not go out. If you have NOT received an offer of admission, you should be making plans to attend elsewhere.”

Also:

“ADMISSION STATUS–The Admissions Office has begun admitting students, but slowly and in small batches. They will be admitting students through April.”

I strongly recommend contacting the admissions office or better yet, if your major is impacted, find the email address or phone number for the head of the department. Based on this email, it looks to me like they won’t even be sending out denial letters until a much later date. I think your best bet is to contact the department instead of waiting through April and consequently missing deadlines for other schools you have already been accepted to.

Hope that helps.

damn what a burn kinda for the animal sciences - ___ -

I haven’t received any application status yet either! My major is in Music and I have yet to see someone admitted into that program that has posted publicly I mean. If I call what should I ask exactly?

CPP takes an eternity to give their prospective students any word about anything. That’s why I go on these threads to check out if anyone knows anything. I would assume “application received”, at this point, means wait listed now i guess…

My S went from “Application Received” to “Prov Admit” overnight. There was no in between, so don’t lose hope based on the supposed intermediate statuses and the timeline for admittance. Each college may handle things differently, as well. He is Engineering.

Congratulations to your son.

I am wondering why it is taking so long to hear back when I’m a math major.
