Fall 2012- Foster UAG Current UW Student/Transfers Accepted/Denied/Pending?

I am creating this post for UAG applicants to Foster school for Autumn 2012 admission (similar to previous year's thread).

According to Foster's website the notification period for Current UW student is early May and for Transfers is mid June. This means that the current UW students should be hearing back from Foster anytime now. Let's keep each other updated through this thread!!

Please respond with your known and expected stats, and if you have heard anything from Foster. Best of luck everyone!!

I am a current UW student and my intended major is Accounting. I waiting for the decision letter with these stats

Pre-App /Cumulative /~WSA (expected)
3.85 / 3.87 / ~ 4.0

Accepted
Listed Accounting as concentration

3.44/3.43/4.0

Good luck everyone!

uw2014: Congrats!!!

when did you receive your acceptance letter?

uw2014, what are this year’s averages? Do they send them with the letter?

Accepted with Accounting major

3.89/3.85/3.25

The average is 3.52/3.56/4.19

Congrats sgcore!! Thank you for posting your stats here! I am also applying to accounting major!! Hopefully, I will see you this fall :)

Btw, I got a question. Is the average gpa for non- UW transfer also 3.52/3.56 and wsa 4.19 or this is only for uw students?

Total Applicant Average: 3.45/3.50/3.50
Total Admitted Average: 3.52/3.56/4.19

Found out online

Congratulations to everyone accepted, and thanks for the stats  We, transfers, have to wait another hard month…

uw2014 so does the average score include transfer students from other unis and cc?
seatac, hang on there we only got less than one month haha

btw, what classes are you taking this quarter?

sorry can you please also post the link of the stats? because I couldn’t find it in the website of Foster and UW

FlyFlydos, most likely it doesn’t… Or maybe it does, in fact, include them, but there is one little thing: as I said, they calculate the index scores of everyone and that’s how they admit 80% of their students. I assume that this is a very easy task to fill those 80% - all it takes is just to transfer some data, that’s it… However, considering that they have to fill the remaining 20% with those who have low stats, they have to read everyone’s personal statement to determine whether they want this person. I guess this takes a significant amount of time (not only one person reads it + I bet there is a little committee). There are about 4-5 people who work in the admissions to Foster, so most likely, right now they are working on those 20%. Considering the number of students applying to Foster every year (thousands), it might take some time. They probably send out notifications to UW students earlier than to transfers so that they can register to their classes early.

I know that there is just one month left, but as the deadline is approaching, I’m getting more nervous  Good thing I’m taking just Managerial Acct and Ethics this quarter, it makes my college life a bit easier.

And the stats, as I understand, are usually provided in the letters of admission - you won’t really find them on UW’s website.

Thanks everyone!!! I feel honored to become a part of the Foster student body :)

Thank you so much seatac! I wish you all the best on your admission!

Can anyone please tell me what the Foster orientation is like? It’s tomorrow.

Just got a rejection email from foater because of failing wsa

I’m so sorry FlyFlydos but don’t give up!!! I was also rejected the first time. My advice to you is to work really hard on your writing skills and try again. Hopefully you will make to Foster the next time!!

I cant believe i got a 2 !
does anyone know are there ways to appeal the wsa score?
Good luck to all of you
I think as long as you dont get an email from them today, it means you pass your wsa

FlyFlydos, you are a transfer, right? Now I’m freaking here out, because I’m REALLY afraid for my WSA.

By the way, when did you take your WSA?

And yeah, good thing is that Foster is open for winter admission also  It didn’t work this time, but should work the next! Good luck with it.

You can probably wait a bit, prepare for the WSA, and apply again. At least this is what my plan is if I don’t get admitted. Or, if I do get admitted into UWB, I will probably just go there.

yes i’m a transfer. I think as long as you don’t receive an email from Foster today, you probably have passed the wsa. My friend and I both received an email from Foster during class time, and we are so frustrated.
I thought the winter transfer is only for current UW student.
On the webpage, it asked me to make an appointment with a Foster adviser to discuss about what I can do. It seems like their admission process are different than before. I am thinking to ask for an appeal for my wsa score in the appointment.
