Fall 2013 Acceptance Rates by Major

A total of over 47k apps last year, an 11k increase over 3 years.

Architecture with a 27 percent still the lowest, some engineering, agriculture and science majors are getting increasingly tougher.

Psychology with over 2.5k applicants and a 32% rate, who would have thought!

Some have also gone up. I think it all depends on the yield rate, really. Sure, 532 math majors were admitted, but I wonder how many enrolled and just decided to switch majors. I was listening to someone who decided to apply here as a math major and then try to worm his way into Kinesiology 'cause it’s impacted. I think we have around 400+ math majors at this school, which I’m not sure if that’s a huge amount or not.

The Physics program here I think is pretty small and I think they need all the people they can get. Not too surprised that there’s a high rate of acceptance for that major. I’ve basically seen the same people in the physics classes I’ve taken at the upper-divison level.

Thanks for posting this!

Have they posted the average (or upper/lower) eligibility index (or GPA or test scores) for the entering freshman class by major? I know they have for previous years, but haven’t seen this yet for fall 2013.
