If you applied to Cal Poly Pomona for Fall 2013

What was your major and stats (gpa and SAT/1600)?

Electrical Engineering

GPA: 3.5(7 APs from Sophmore to Senior year, not that it matters)
1220/1600(1830/2400) M:630, CR:590.

REALLY hope I get in. I applied on the first day too. I visited the campus last march I and loved it.

Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.96 w

M: 570, CR: 430 (1000/1600)
(1500/2400)
Act: 22

Good luck to everyone!

Biotechnology

3.14 GPA

M: 730 R: 690 (1420/1600) (2070/2400)

Have taken a college level Biotechnology class as well

@jazzcuzi, how did you manage such an awesome SAT score with such an average GPA? I think you more than made up for it though.

Intended Major: Architecture
SAT: M-740 CR-640 =1380/1600 (2010 overall)
ACT: 31
GPA: 4.00 (UW)

Public HS
4 APs Senior Year (Statistics,Literature,Physics C:Mech, and MicroEcon)
(Junior Year: Calc BC-5 Lang&Comp-4)

I think that I never truly understood just how urgent and important my grades were in high school.

Middle school no one talked to me about college at all, and no one talked about college till junior year really.

I didn’t even know my GPA because I had no sense of urgency until second semester junior year. My parents didn’t ever talk to me about college or the idea that I should be getting straight As. I don’t exactly go to a school full of people who are full of college-bound seniors (we couldn’t even fill enough slots in some AP classes for them to run).

Besides that, everyone always told me how smart I was and things came easy for me, so I never had that wake up call (well until some point in junior year).

I’m not discouraged though, because I truly am a new student this past year or so and I think I have what it takes to be the single greatest modern scientist. I just need an opportunity… I’ll take advantage of it for sure.

Mechanical Engineering

GPA: (10-12) 3.5W
SAT: 1710 (650 Math, 510 CR, 550 W)
AP’s: Calc AB, Physics B, Lang, Calc BC, Physics(Mechanics), Physics(Electrics&Magnetism), Chemistry

Really hoping for an acceptance too. My GPA straight up sucks because I struggle in foreign language and English.

Mechanical Engineering

GPA 3.2
SAT 950/1600

I know, my stats really suck, thus my username. I hope I can at least get into Long Beach.

Chemical Engineering

GPA: 3.88 W/4.88 UW/4.26 CSU
SAT: 1400/1600 (2140/2400), ACT: 32

Major: Business Administration
GPA: 2.95
SAT: (1100/1600) M: 540 CR: 560

Posting for my daughter…*applied 11/23/12; received provisional acceptance via email 12/14/12 for fall 2013:

Major: Industrial Engineering
GPA: 3.95 (CSU), 4.56 fully weighted
SAT, math 680, reading 630, Writing 700
Rigorous course load of math/science, all APs (but not English AP, not Am. Govt AP)

Received provisional acceptance via email Dec 14, 2012 from CPP. Note, I think because we are from the area, not far from CPP - she received this email so soon after applying. It read, “Thank you very much for applying to the College of Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona.* Based on your excellent academic record, the College has recommended you for admission. As a reminder, your admission will be provisional, and you must meet all deadlines as required by the Office of Admissions.* Check your email regularly for messages from Cal Poly Pomona, and view your official admissions notification status in January by logging in to BroncoDirect.” Best of luck to everyone on their application! …“OCmomof3”
