Fall 2013 Transfer Thread

Haha, yeah I woke up at 3am and randomly checked. My false alarms consist of when I mysteriously get signed out of WA lol.

Like when I woke up at 7 I was like “oh I’ll check” and then every hour since I’ve gone to sleep had a dream about getting in, woken up, and checked. I may go insane before noon.

an hour and 15 minutes left!

30 minutes :open_mouth:

Could that have been any more melodramatic? This is ridiculous.

I remember the same thing with EA admissions. Michigan isn’t really the best at being on time.

Amen, I’m going to be so upset if I hear nothing today.

My admissions counselors not even in town…should I call Kim Bryant and see whats going on?

I just called and they said we should be able to access our decisions within the next couple of days because they need to be entered into the system and refreshed and we should also receive an email (which we all know omg) but yeah she wasn’t very useful at all. This is the first time that I called and they didn’t tell me my app was still under review.

@maomix did you talk to an admissions rep or an admissions counselor? The reps all seem to be giving us the same information and saying that ‘you should hear by the end of the week’. Its literally been a month since the first time I heard that.

@Relsparty I just got in! Yeah, I’d try Kim Bryant I just got off the phone with her a couple seconds ago and she said she just finished a pile of applications. If I got in I think you’re set.

Just got an email. #rejected

@UMDTransfer91 congrats!! I did give her a call, she said she’s gonna try to transfer my application from my current counselor to her, and she said she thinks I have a good chance. She’s gonna call me and talk to me tomorrow. I’m so nervous!

@Maomix, I’m sorry man :frowning: You must have had something that they were interested in if you made it this far. I know you told me this would be your last time to apply, but if circumstances change and you applied again for the next term, I’m sure you’ll get in!

Oh, Maomix, sorry dude.

@RelSparty, It’s alright. I’ll live, haha. I had a feeling I wouldn’t get in anyways, I wish you luck though!

@newtocollege, it’s okay. Aren’t you on the Vandy thread too?

Just got that horrific email… Go to State or reapply?

@Parkerm1, Ugh sorry dude. It sucks. What’s your situation like? I know for me it’s looking like I’m going to Arizona and CCing it up for a couple of years.

I’m sure Kim Bryant is ecstatic to be getting all these calls, haha.

Maomix, sorry that you didn’t get in. Continuing CC isn’t bad though, I took that route. I’ve been here for 3 years and it’s been a lot better than I originally expected.
I made a few really good friends and managed to save tons of money since tuition is pretty much nonexistant. I also got to work on lots of cool projects with the faculty since there’s so much more one on one interaction compared to 4 year universities. Ultimately, I think it’s this fact that has helped me get into some pretty good engineering programs like the ones at UMCP, Cal Poly SLO, and UCI. I know it kinda sucks now, but it’ll work out in the long run.

Parkerm, I’d take State. I wouldn’t wanna go through all of this again…

@lachesis4687, I’m actually not at a CC now; I’m at Oakland University. I’m going to probably go to a CC in Arizona next fall though. It depends if I get into the other two schools I applied to. The only thing that sucks about that is I’ll have 42 credits by the end of this semester (with APs) and It’ll take awhile to get residency there when I already have that many (they won’t all transfer to a university well, and I’ll be wasting a lot of time.) I’m pretty confident that I’ll like it there better than my current school though. Thanks for sharing the good vibes and advice. Where did you decide to go?
