You can transfer a maximum of 60 credits, but you don’t need that many to make the move. I only had 12 credits when I applied last year (ended the year with 24 - of which UofM accepted 21), so you certainly have ‘enough.’

I would imagine your HS gpa would carry little weight for you at this point. Good luck!

Grade trend definitely holds a lot of weight, and you’ve shown that you’re improving. Your college GPA is gonna help you out a lot, as well as your essays which say that you’ve figured out the way to succeed at a higher academic level. I don’t think they take EC into consideration THAT much compared to GPA, but having leadership positions and volunteering are definitely recommended. Overall, I’d say you have a good shot, and best of luck!

hey I am planning on transferring for winter term but i am just wondering about housing. Where are all yall living at UM?? On or off campus, i called housing and they said they dont know if housing will be available for winter term. I am from out of state and i dont know anyone in ann arbor so i am unsure where i will live and i dont really wanna live off campus my first semester at UM?

@RelSparty you think I have a decent chance even with only 36 credits completed? I keep hearing/reading that anything >45 credits will put you in a good range, but idk if that’s >45 pending credits or already completed when you apply. If I were to be admitted, I would then have 54 completed credits.

Also, some of my credits will only transfer there as departmental, but none of them are non-transferable. So does that mean they will take 54 of my 54 credits? (if i were to get in of course :/)

@chickenfried what were you stats? you were admitted right, so what was your college and hs stats?

Lulu, they consider the courses that you’re taking right now, so they would count the 54 pending. It would be better if you didn’t have that many departmental credits, but I don’t think that’s a HUGE deal, since I got in and I had a bunch of departmental credits. They just want to make sure that you’ll be in a position to succeed at Umich and won’t have to waste too much time taking a bunch of pre reqs all over again. Hope that helps!

Avita, what were your HS stats like? I know if you did well in HS, it is MUCH easier for you to be admitted early into UM. I had terrible HS stats so idk I am so worried I will be denied again. I’m sorry if I am driving you all crazy! Hahaha

My high school stats weren’t great. I had a 2090 single sitting SAT, but my only extra cirricular activity was the part time job at an ice cream parlor that I held down for 5 years and my GPA on a 4.0 scale was only a 3.2 - 3.4 (on the numeric scale, I had an 89.465 though. I was just far too comfortable with high Bs in high school). I’m not a URM an had no discernible hooks in high school besides the fact that my dad went here when he was getting his MBA. I’m an oos student. I really turned it around during college and did a great job my freshman year, so they saw that change and gave me a chance.
