take Calc 2 in the spring or you have no chance , Calc 2 is a requirement to even be considered into McCombs , also I’m pretty sure you need 30 hours taken at the university to be considered for an external transfer to UT , 30 hours at the A&M , not including AP credit , and you have credit for MacroEcon from AP , so i assume its an spelling error on here your courses to be taken in the Spring Semester , and that you are taking MicroEcon , cause thats the other requirement for McCombs , but besides those 2 your chances are pretty good , you have to take calc 2 this semester in the spring or your not even going to considered as your transcript with Calc 2 is required before you take it in the summer
The 30 hours requirement is unclear - as it mentions credits from all colleges (including dual) with no mention of AP. So @aggie2longhorn, I suggest you get clarification on that. Best option is to get Calc 2 on your spring schedule which will add 4 hours and put you over 30 hours in residence at A & M.
Clear our confusion - do you now have Macro and Micro completed?
@Yoohooos, No. The requirement to have the 4 courses complete or in progress at the time of application is not a suggestion, it is a requirement. Without those, the OP will not be admitted to McCombs, even with a 4.0.
Note that application deadline is March 1. Good luck!
OK so basically after talking to the UGS dean UT is making a rule to where students in UT have higher preferences to get their majors before outside students do. So basically it will get harder for transfer students to get in so it’s all or nothing when you apply. It’s because they say its unfair that outside students are getting their majors before students in UT because many from easier schools (community college) and have higher GPA’S than students in UT since the classes are crazy hard. So that’s why they aren’t letting you guys apply for UGS anymore. This was directed because of internal transfer for business and engineering was getting hard. So the dean’s told us UGS students that it will be extremely hard for outside transfer to get into these majors specifically. It’s not fair but it is what it is.
So if you want mccombs finish all the pre requisites before you apply.
If you get Calc 2 done you’re golden. I am trying to internal transfer and you need calculus 1&2 and micro & macro economics.
They are harder at ut so they give preference to internal transfers before outside applicants. You have to wow them, and a 4.0 at TAMU is a wow factor. Just add some business related clubs or activities to your application.
Good luck aggie2longhorn! I am also an A&M student trying to transfer to UT. I am a sophmore now and I got in last year as a transfer. Just remember to hold out and don’t do something dumb like I did and decide to stay. I think you have a great shot!
Hey guys! I really need help, for the business indicator courses, does UTD’s Applied Calc I and II count? I have the AP credit for Calc I, but for Calc II, i took Applied Calc II at UTD, and it transfers as M 303L to UT… Will this work?
