Fall 2016 Admissions

Turned in my application about a week ago, had a interview today, and take the gsae this sunday. Anybody have any tips for the gsae?

@Youtopia It’s a 30 minutes phone interview, and I am an international student. They will send an email if they want to interview you. @HillaryB Hang in there.I submitted my application on Jan 14th and I also had the phone interview 2 months ago. I am still waiting. It looks like they put me on the backup list if there is such a thing

Thank you:) @MoTeak
I’m stuck in an unexpected situation. In January I had mailed my official transcript from high school as I was applying for Early Action; however, due to several urgent events, I had to postpone the application process until Regular Decision. Thus I wonder if I need to mail my transcripts again? Can the old one still be used for my application?

@Youtopia did u have to start a new application? I started an app and decided to wait until fall admissions to apply and my GS exam was attached to my original app. I called admissions and they just moved it over to the new application that I had completed. They can probably do the same for you transcripts. If you didn’t start a completely new application then I assume you don’t have to do anything

Does anyone know if it’s a letter or email acceptance notification?

@Youtopia From what I know, if they have your transcript, they will keep it. You can email them and tell them what your situation is. I sent my TOEFL score last August, and I email them this year. They were still able to find it. So I think you don’t need to mail your transcripts again. But I recommend you to email them to make sure they have your transcript.

@Youtopia I had a weird thing happen to me like that as well (but different) - they kept my stuff and added on the rest.

HAS ANYONE RECEIVED AN EMAIL TODAY SAYING AN UPDATE HAS BEEN MADE TO YOUR APP?? i just got one…and i haven’t checked. IM TOO SCARED.

ACCEPTED!! IM SHAKING…and crying. is this a dream!? good luck everyone!

Congrats!!!

I did not get the email saying that my decision has been made, but I checked my account few minutes ago anyways (as I have been doing this for more than 6 weeks)…

and it says I am accepted.

Why didn’t I get the email? Or is there any possibility that they sent out an acceptance letter to me by mistake or any technical faults?

@Adrianmin3066 hah im sure its not a mistake…maybe there is a delay? Not sure…anyways CONGRATS!!

@Mike2011 Thanks! I still cannot believe what just happened. I am keep saying: WOW. Columbia? I will call the admission office tomorrow to confirm whether I am really accepted or not. Anyway, see you at the orientation!

I was also accepted today. Good luck to everyone still waiting

Got accepted! Now I am waiting for the financial aid package and to see how many credits they are going to accept of mine before I decide. Congratulations to everyone who has gotten in so far! Good luck to everyone else who is still playing the waiting game!

Congratulations everyone!

Big congrats to those who have received acceptance letters!

I, too, received my acceptance email today. However, I was unable to log into the financial aid portal. I’ll be contacting them tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!

@ivyleaguetime21 how can you find out if your credits transfer or not? Im waiting to hear back from UCLA and Berkeley before I make a decision as well. It will be a tough decision if it means having to stay in school for another year to make up for credits that don’t transfer :expressionless:

I received my acceptance email yesterday (thank God!) and am deferring until the spring. I noticed on my application status page it says “awaiting Spring 2016 transcripts.” I am not taking any classes currently and stated as such on my application and in my official transcripts. Anyone else experience this?
