Course selection is coming up. this last two semesters will be my hardest. I was planning on doing Meteorology and Math, but I realized that I have to take elementary statistics. Since I planned already my future class courses, I don’t have room to fit elementary statistics. So now I’m doing Meteorology and chemistry with a minor in math. Atmospheric chemistry is my goal (in case why I’m majoring in chem)
So from 1-10 how would you rate my schedule
Calculus 2
Physics (based physics)
Organic chemistry (Will have to wait for an answer if it will transfer to Penn state)
Discrete math (Will have to wait for an answer if it will transfer to Penn state)
So, you have two more semesters before you can transfer, is that correct?
What classes do you need to take - beside all 5 listed above?
Don’t you need to take some gen ed classes in the social sciences, art, etc?
The schedule above looks very very difficult, and hard to maintain good grades in.
Organic Chemistry should only be paired with one difficult class, so that you can dedicate
the bulk of your time to it.
Even if you’re getting an A in Calc1, Calc2 will be difficult (but doable). Adding Physics
(calculus-based? is “calculus” the missing word?) and Discrete Math to Calc2 and Orgo
sounds like a suicide mission - one of your grades won’t make it.
So, I’d recommend Calculus 2, Organic Chemistry, Elementary Statistics and one easy class for this semester,
and next semester Physics, Discrete Math, and two-three other required classes.
I will be done with my gen eds this semester. I see where you are heading “suicide mission” but I don’t have a choice because I live in a small area and they only offer physics 1 and discrete in the fall. What i can is maybe take my last at requirement in the fall, but not sure what class I can get rid off.
