FALL 2016 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

They don’t send out early admissions. That was a typo. My apologies. I meant to say they do not.

@Panorama14 do you know what happens at STOMP? I read that it’s usually for first generation, low income, non traditional students… but I’m not any of those things… could I still go?

@anxiousmac I went last year. From my experience, the STOMP conference more than anything, is catered to students looking to apply the upcoming year. Still I noticed many of the participants were newly admitted students. Personally if I do get accepted before the day of the STOMP conference, I’ll be attending just to see the campus and gather information that will help me make an informed decision. I’d encourage you to go.

@Cgs16 I don’t think they will rescind your acceptance for getting a C. I have been accepted to UCSD and in the contract for provisional admission, the conditions of admissions states that I have to get at least a 2.0 GPA for this spring semester and that I have to pass all subject requirements with a grade of C or better. I don’t think UCLA or Cal will have a different contract so I will say you are safe.

Hey guys, I applied to transfer to UCLA and UCSD, but I’m much more interested in UCLA. I was wondering what any of you think my chances are, especially since I’m transferring from a CSU (am I basically doomed?) Also, a couple weeks ago they sent me an email asking for me to upload an unofficial copy of my transcripts (just UCLA did this, and they had a link to a specific response page where I should upload them), so I’m wondering if that was a good sign or just doesn’t mean anything. Here are my stats:

Major: Physics
GPA: 3.89
School: San Diego State University
Residence: Out of state
Pre-reqs: Completed by the end of spring semester, but only if they all transfer over

Thanks!

I’ll need about three weeks to think about it, but then I should be able to chance you with a really really high degree of certainty

@foreverwmt Physics is not impacted and that GPA is competitive. Lower division courses from high ranking CSUs tend to transfer over because the UCs are used to receiving a handful of applications from those schools each year.

You are competitive. The only thing against you is the fact that you are not a CA resident, which means that you do not benefit from the increased enrollment initiatives. Still, I would be surprised if you were rejected from either with that major.

I am panicking right now guys. I just got my grades for the winter quarter and I got a C+ in Calculus 1C or Calculus 3 OMG sigh. Would UCLA rescind the offer after seeing me getting a C+ in Calculus 1C, if I happened to get accepted? I applied as an Bus Econ major. And UCLA didn’t put Calc 1C as a requirement. I got a B in Calculus 1A and an A- in Calculus 1B.

@ayovivian although this is for ucsd, it is most likely the same for the other UCs as well:

Conditions of Admission:

  • Complete at least 60 semester or 90 quarter UC transferable units by the end of Spring term 2016 with an overall UC grade point average (GPA) of at least a 3.00.
    Remain in good academic standing in your last regular term with at least a 2.00 GPA for UC-transferable course work for that term.
  • Complete subject requirements by the end of Spring term 2016, including two UC-transferable English composition courses; one UC-transferable math concepts and quantitative reasoning course; four UC-transferable courses chosen from at least two of the following areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological sciences.
  • Pass subject requirements with grades of “C” or better.
    If there are other conditions attached to your admission, an additional document will be sent to you.
    Your admission will be subject to immediate cancellation if:
    there are any inconsistencies between data reported on your application and on official documents;
    all provisions have not been met, regardless of your enrollment status.

@ayovivian If you get accepted, all you need is a C.

did anyones myapplication page change yet? did anyones application status change from “received” yet?

Mine still says received.

Officially April!! Only a couple weeks until we find out :-SS

sucks for film student … we already know if we got in or not … and my part of the end is not looking so great … good luck to you guys !

We have exactly 3 weeks from today until we find out right?! April 22nd probably?

@foreverwmt That’s right! In the past UCLA typically has released decisions one week before Berkeley. Berkeley is releasing decisions on April 29, so it can be inferred that UCLA will release decisions on April 22.

Random note:

This last quarter is kicking my freaking butt! I just want to graduate, lol.

@UCLAFFF same here :-<

:-SS

For the Statistics major, assist.org recently added one more lower division pre-req course for this year. I hadn’t noticed it, but I looked through every single CC, and not a single school has it…Obviously I don’t have it. Not even SMC, or Pasadena CC, not one school has it. I doubt they’d hold it against the applicants right?
