FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@LynAmmo you won’t be assigned roommates until maybe mid to end of August. In the past there was no way to see your or other people’s profiles. Housing will try to match you with like-minded students. You just get assigned names and maybe an email then you could try emailing them or looking for them on Fb.

If you find potential roommate(s) before they assign you, I think you can each ask housing to put you all together.

@Happy2Help Ok, thank you. Will we at least know what residential hall they decide to put us in ahead of time? Or is that is August too?

August too…

@LynAmmo I wonder if you can figure out what room type, by what they charge you in July?

Is anyone’s appeal link already working?

I’m shooting for the university apartments with 2bd/4p so hopefully it’s works out. I did my housing app before I SIR’d, so that isn’t necessary. I guess you just need to be down to pay the $30 fee

How hard is it to switch into the Film major if I am in a different program?

VERY

Do I have a good case for appeal? Look at my previous post.

Thanks for much! Good luck with school!

Also- can we take more community college classes this summer even after we were admitted? I reached the 90 unit cap.

Is anyone doing the LLC Transfer Experience @Gardenia/Holly? I’m trynna be with other 20 year olds that are new to UCLA too.

Did you guys have to find out when your parents established a checking account when submitting the SIR? How do I find that out?

@HeheXD23 I won’t be living in the dorms, but I’m beyond 20!

Is anyone planning on attending the bay area transfer reception in San Mateo?

Is there a FB group for transfers

@HeheXD23 what is that?

I just SIRed to UCLA, and I can see my award details but it says that

"Residence for Tuition Classification: Pending

Additional information may be requested to determine your residence classification for tuition purposes. Our residence deputies will contact you via your official email and the Message Center."

Is this normal? How long do I have to wait?

@cmdchavezz I just called again today and the person I spoke with said we DO have to get it from the IRS, so now I’m confused by hearing two different things. Did they tell you anything different?

today i SIR’ed, applied for housing, submitted transcripts, and submitted AP scores. do we send our current college transcripts now or after we finish this semester? also, when do we sign up for classes?
