Wait, so you transferred to UCD and now want out and want to reapply? Hmmm, I don’t know how that will fly. Since you withdrew with no coursework are you even UC-UC? It sounds like a difficult task. I’d just stay at UCD, personally.
@MiniGrace11 I lived in a studio apartment (university-owned) my first year at UCLA and I loved every bit! It wasn’t small at all, it was definitely bigger than a dorm; I could see you liking this option. If you have health-concerns related to your housing assignment, you can take that up with housing and fill out a form that they will review. If you are approved, I would imagine they work with your needs, but it has to be a legitimate excuse. Yours seems to be excusable.
All university apartments have parking structures, I believe (you have to pay a small fee for them).
If you do not live in apartments, you have to enter a lottery system for parking.
All dorms (except for one) have AC.
Contrary to popular belief, the dorms are not as noisy as people may think–I think the first quarter is a time of excitement for people so naturally they go “buck wild” in the dorms and socialize. But then when the second quarter comes around, people straighten up and realize there must be a balance with school and socializing.
To add to @UCLAFFF, for @minigrace11:
Any health concerns regarding housing need to go through the Center for Accessible Education with ample medical evidence from your physician(s) and even then it’s not a sure thing to be assigned a studio apartment or a single dorm (singles require sharing a bathroom with 4 others). I’m a parent, and I learned what DD had to go through. Her first year, she was in a triple but her roommates left, and then in her 2nd year, she had a single with the help of CAE (can’t remember what the former name of the office was).
Yes you must pay for parking and not all university apartments have assigned parking. She didn’t know anyone that lived in the dorms and also brought their car, since it was nearly impossible to get a parking permit.
Your best bet if you can afford it, is to rent locally to be assured of meeting your requirements.
Good luck!
Hi everyone. I was just wondering, do we send our official transcripts to UCLA already? Or do we wait for them to ask for it?
@Ohm888 Im not liking uc davis support services. i find the school lacking in it academic support resources it been a hassle just trying to get acomadations just imagine uc davis want me to go all they way back to the bay were i live to get paper work and i just dont have time to do that. Im replying to uc berkely and ucla. I feel uc berkeley will be better apotion prefetrably it a 20 minute bart ride away from home and it semester system so i get a chance to process my learning instead of rushing. what are my chances i feel i have a good shot but you never know i used the excuse of a ill parent as the reason for withdrawing. Im uc-uc
@umaasa You don’t send official transcripts to them until after you are accepted. They base admissions decisions off of what we self report on the UC application.
I made a rocket ship one this time c;

@mightyMETA soooo close ahhhhh
@mightyMETA I just got really nervous! haha
I completed IGETC during Fall and I’m applying to UCLA from SMC, should I turn in my IGETC certification form already? Or would it be worthwhile to wait? I’m wondering if this will have any impact on my future classes or my application.
@brnnbrnn I’m at smc too and on the form it makes you choose which school to send it to, so I would wait until you get in. Best of luck!
You don’t submit IGETC until after you have been accepted to a UC and accept the offer (SIR). So, usually in May and June.
@brnnbrnn I was told that IGETC certification is annotated on your transcript. I had mine done early for peace of mind because I TAG’d UCSB and they don’t notify you early if TAG is accepted.
Some annotate, some send in a different form. It depends on the CCC. But you need to request it separately either way.
Ya. I’d say either way if you have all IGETC done now it doesn’t hurt getting the stamp/ form now. My IGETC cert took about a month from when I requested it. They said it’s anywhere from 2-4 weeks. I had 3 other transcripts they had to review so that’s probably why mine took a month.
who has this school as their number 1 choice . discuss.
GUYS don’t give up. I had Two Ds and still was accepted. Just remember, you can’t succeed in life if you never fail.
@UCLAstan #1 choice since I was 15! I can’t imagine going anywhere else. My GPA sucks (3.28) but thankfully, I’m a film major so my supplementals could save me.
@MiniGrace11 best of luck
@UCLAstan Me! I got in as a freshman but I screwed up my last semester and my admission was revoked. I really hope that it doesn’t have a negative impact on my being admitted as a transfer one year later. I love this school!
