FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@kkus2013 So the major you applied for isn’t listed under your email either?

Mine doesn’t say my major either.

@brnnbrnn Yes, but I did not check the web page every day, I do not know when it was changed. I am pretty sure that there was a major was listed under my Email address before.

Ok, I feel better knowing that I am not alone, meltdown averted hahaha

I don’t remember either way but it sounds like everyone can agree that there is no major listed now.

Yea mine is not there either now and I remember speficially it being there before.

Can confirm my major no longer listed

Anyone have any info for the decision date?

@axoltyl I think that UCLA follows the deadlines they put out. It says online that decisions are released on April 22nd. I don’t know if Regents hears earlier.

APRIL 21st will be our decision date! UCLA IS ALWAYS 1 WEEK BEFORE CAL!

My major isn’t there anymore either…

this might help and there is a ‘housing hack’ thread link in there too if anyone wants to check that out. they seem to give a lot of good info. the posts about it start at about page 170, but feel free to scan for information as needed

I wouldn’t read too much into the early signs of getting in or not. It sounds like everyone on here doesn’t have a major listed.

@enpz45 the anticipation is killing me :frowning:

Guys, a quick question !
I wonder if this situation might affect negatively on admission:
I am taking one non-transferable course on this quarter as Pass/No pass.
I might get NP on this course. The thing is I am majoring in CS, and that course is related to my major.
Although that course is not transferable course…, I feel like it would have a negative impact.
I heard/read that non-transferable courses have ZERO influence to admission. Is it correct even under my circumstance?

Help me guys ! Thank you in advance.

what are my chances as a African American studies major from uc Davis with a 3.1 and extracurricular involve bsu Nigerian student association worked dining hall currently at uc Davis. Can someone chance me with there honest opinion omg whether I get in are not

@MiniGrace11 I feel ya. It’s probably not necessary to check my UC apps 5 times each a day & constantly check this site.

@“osazuwa ogbeide” idk. You’re in a tough spot being a UC-UC transfer and I don’t know how competitive that major is. Check out this website for better info
https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

@“osazuwa ogbeide” it really just comes down to numbers. i.e meeting quota, trying to expand diversity, etc. UCLA does not have a large Black student population so really… it comes down to major quota, school quota, and how impressed they are with your application as a whole (GPA, major prep, essays) and if they have space after allowing all the students with priority in first. African-American Studies major isn’t too impacted so I’d imagine that if the numbers look good, then you’ll have a good chance. (As told by my mom who majored in the same field)

@enpz45 my gpa is not in the average range which is 3.21-3.4. On ucla site 25% of admits was 3.0 and 75 % had gpa of 3.5 so my gpa falls in between both those number but you never now I got waitlisted to ucsd and accepted to Irvine last time applied so anything can happen all I know is I’m liking Davis. Berkeley is 20 min from my house

@MiniGrace11 thank you for the feedback. I had a cousin who graduated from ucla and she said how there literally no student of colors. I’m Nigerian by the way born in America so hopefully that factors in. You never no what could happen I heard people getting in with 3.3 3.2 anything can happen
