FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

I dont get why people still wanna be chanced when they have already applied to the schools. The only reason I could think of is that they are seeking stress relieving replies. I dont judge that, but just be patient, focus on your last semester. People on CC can give you advice, or can chance you before you apply so that you would have an idea of which school you should to apply for. Now, you have already applied, what we say does not matter at all. We cannot approve or deny your application. Just 3 more weeks, you will figure out the decision. You may have seen a lot of people who had good stats but still got denied, if we chance you based on your stats, give you good comments, make you feel hopeful and at the end you find out that you get rejected, you are going to be much more disappointed and starting blaming that the school is not fair to you.

I get what you are saying but maybe let somebody else reply if you don’t want to do it.

@mightyMETA yup it’s at 3.49 (hopefully they round up to 3.5 lol) still kinda suckish… but im not too worried about it i anymore… if i get rejected it will be a nice ego-neutralizer at least lol

@andrewjchang My thoughts exactly. Stay woke everyone ^

@otoribashi Whoa that’s a huge improvement, good luck :o

@youssef96 did you get accepted to UCI as a transfer?? when did they post your results??

@cmdchavezz I got in last Tuesday, but I TAG’ed to UCI.

@andrewjchang Rt.

@satshawty Are you missing stats? Because virtually every transfer student I’ve met is. It’s really no big deal for admissions. You can add a comment if you want, but it won’t do a lot. Your GPA is pretty good, so long as you keep it up you should be good.

so before i went off to my original four year university then transferred to CCC i took this class at the CCC im currently at and this was summer before my freshman year and I received a W in the class, but made up the class my freshman year. I just remembered this happened, and this happened like summer of 2015. Should I update my TAU about it? Or just leave it? When they receive my transcripts, they’ll see my grades from my previous 4 year college that I did take this class and received a B in it. What should I do :frowning:

And I already was accepted to UCSB and Cal Poly SLO :frowning:

@Mont2LA thanks for replying haha! I’m not missing stats, I took it and got an A! After spring 2017 I will be missing an International relations course, because it’s not offered at my school in spring.
Btw, my GPA is 3.76 because I completed the requirements for 2 majors, the other being Public Health, so I had to take a bunch of Bio/Chem/Physics which brought it down a bit. My major GPA for polisci is 4.0. Do you think that helps my case?
Thanks!

anyone know what the effect of dropping an unrequited class is? im currently in a humanities class that isn’t required and it won’t affect my minimum of 60 units but i may drop it.

@juliamarie15 Just update your TAU, I have read similar cases in the past and I don’t think it will be a big deal

I have the same question as josh2633. I am in a Calc II class and do not need it for any of my majors. I only took it because I thought why not finish the sequence (lol how idealistic). It’s not unbearably hard and I have an A but it is time-consuming and I want a little more freedom in my last semester, so I am thinking of dropping to 16 units. This will not affect me meeting 60 units. How would I report this drop and will it jeopardize my acceptances or anything?

@mangobby what’s your major?

psych major

I’d say drop it…I think that classes that are not pre reqs can be dropped. I would email an admissions counselor just to double check.

@mangobby im biz econ and im taking linear alg and diffy q because why not finish the calc sequence :stuck_out_tongue: I only needed calc 2 lol
legit prob only non-stem major in those classes… =.=

@darkarchang3l is Diff Eq part of the calc sequence? I thought it was just calc 1-3.

Anyone listening, do you know if Diff Eq is required to transfer for a statistics major? If any other STEM majors (non-engineers) are here, I’d really appreciate it.
