FALL 2018 UCI Irvine Official Transfer Thread

@SebastianRosiak You’re right :(( I guess it’s hard to contain the anxiety when you’ve been waiting for this decision for years. I’m gonna force myself to stop checking every couple of hours until the end if this week :stuck_out_tongue:

So uci will start sending decisions after march 20, hopefully for transfers as well and not just the freshmen.

I tagged to Irvine for CS and haven’t heard back yet. has anyone who TAG’d have yet?

@ucitag2018 not yet. Maybe after march 20

@riceball123 where did you hear March 20th?

@jmm1997 it’s on Uci’s oit website. Hopefully it’s for transfers as well

What are the chances you get rejected from TAG even if you have met all the requirements?

I applied under BizEcon (TAG) with a 3.92 GPA (B in calc I) and i’m currently taking microecon and calc II this spring semester. If i end up with a C in calc II, would my acceptance be rescinded?

UCI’s bizecon transfer requirements state “Complete two semesters/two quarters of approved first-year calculus with a grade of B or better”

my spring GPA would be 3.0 and my overall GPA would be 3.8. Would a C in calc II get me rescinded because of the bizecon requirements?

@Kelvin105 I know how you feel bro!!! I looked it up and stumbled upon this:

Thanks a lot! @riceball123

There is something I regretted doing that may have void my tag. UCI Tag specifies that I must update the Transfer Academic Update (TAU) by the priority deadline January 31st. I ended up submitting the update to my application 6 times in January, and then went back to resubmit another one in late February. Do you guys think it will void my tag?

The 6th time I updated my application in January had all my classes and grades accurately confirmed. Then I went back in February to change and update something on the additional comment section. I regretted doing that. Please, what do you guys think?

@Kelvin105 I did the same thing and I’m scared about that :((

@Kelvin105 @pharmdream you guys should be okay! just as long as you submitted your first tau before january 31st, you’re okay. in fact, the tau is still open & able to be edited as much as you want until the end of march i believe.

here is another link that is essentially saying the same thing.

@Kelvin105 @pharmdream you guys should be okay as long as your first update was before the deadline. I too was scared that I’d lose priority or TAG because UCs emailed me to update my winter grade last February. But again, as long as we submitted our first update before the January 31st deadline, we can update as much as we want until march 31 I think

i know that nothing can be done at this point & it’s all about waiting & what not but maaaan the wait is agonizing T_T

Will TAG applicants find out decisions after march 20?

I’m actually glad I created this thread so that we anxious applicants can have each other to hold onto through this journey. Irvine please release the Tag decisions tonight!

@kelvin105 how likely is it that they’ll release it tonight ;(

@riceball123 I would say 25% chance… I have checked past history that they typically release tag decisions early April… Except last year, but UCI did screw up with admissions decisions last year…
