Does anyone believe that some results will be sent out tomorrow a la last year? I am pretty sure some local admits received decisions on the 25th last year? Any rumors?
No, they never do. March 25th - or mid march is sdsu
Check the transfer thread last year
Hmm im thinking feb 28 at earliest
yeah for the fall 2020 and fall 2019 transfer forums its been feb 25th for those who applied without an ADT. Even if you check some reddits from 2018 its been feb 25th. I wouldn’t doubt things being postponed this year though due to COVID
I know I am incredibly late, but I have been such a lurker on this thread for so long I feel like I’ve been active the entire time. I think tomorrow I’ll probably be checking the portal every single hour just to see if ‘pending’ changes to anything else.
Here’s my little factoid sheet:
Degree: AA-T English (however this is not used in my application, I am being evaluated strictly on the general pathway)
GPA: 3.38 (I’m hoping that maybe if I get A’s in my last semester I may be able to get a 3.5 but it’ll probably just end up being a 3.45 or something like that haha.)
Golden 4: 3 are completed, completing the last one this semester
Local: nope, I’m in San Bernardino county.
Major: English (single subject teaching)
Other schools I applied to: (all of these are cal states) Los Angeles (accepted), Pomona (accepted), San Marcos (accepted), Long Beach (accepted), Channel Islands (accepted), San Bernardino, Fullerton, San Luis Obispo, San Diego (obviously lol), San Jose.
): All of you are so much more competitive than me, I feel like a total poser—and I really don’t know how I’ve been accepted to 5 colleges already if I’m being honest. I really hope we all get in regardless. I’m crossing my toes and fingers for all of us (:
Don’t play yourself down. You have so many acceptances already (to good universities) and will get more. Good luck to you. I also will be checking my admission status all day, hopefully we can all get into SDSU
You seem competitive to me!! Remember it has a lot to do with each individual’s major too, some are more crowded than others. I really think you’ll get in And I think us getting into long beach is a good sign… long beach and sdsu have similar acceptance rates.
Anyone else checking their portal every 5 minutes lol
so even though portal states “admission decisions will be available in March”, do we think something may happen today or tomorrow?
Lol why do u think that? I heard on twitter some guy said feb 25 for non adt admissions transfers they will be rolling out
lol that was me on twitter
Lol nice well i hope u get in brother. I hope i get in by next week. Hope to see u there!
I keep checking, but now that it’s 3pm I don’t think anything will change. Or at least for me, it still says pending. I’m happy that tomorrow I’ll be at work for the majority of the day to help me stop compulsively checking my portal. Honestly I hope that by the time it’s March we hear something because I don’t think this stress is good for my heart aha.
Lol maybe for non adt people. I think transfers will be late feb 28 or even march 1
I’m one of those non-adt people I think, because they’re evaluating me on the general pathway, not my AA for transfer since I applied to the single subject teaching English instead of the general English major. But I could be wrong since I am technically still a transfer?
Not sure. Do you have your BA already? Maybe you are on track but do ba first so then do single subject after. But you are still a transfer. Who knows.
Hey silently! I wanted to reassure you as well that your major will dictate how high your GPA needs to be for admission–depending how impacted the major is. To me I think you have good chances for SDSU. For example, I had a 3.74 and got rejected from Long Beach for psychology. But you got in with a 3.38 for English. With this in mind, I think your chances for SDSU are pretty good. I hope we all get in!!!
I do not have my BA yet, but I am doing single subject specifically because I want my masters in education. I mean, I could have just done the English major but I plan on going straight into teaching once I have my BA and that way I also already have the “credential” requirements filled out. I could have gotten confused but I thought the single subject program was like… you take these classes instead of certain English major classes, not in addition to. 0-0 But gosh I really hope I didn’t misread that.
Thank you. Everyone’s reassurance does make me feel a bit better about my chances. It is true that the average for most English transfers across the board for most calstates is about a 3.18-3.2, obviously San Diego’s is higher (I think 3.3-3.4?)
I do want to say though, I’m sorry you didn’t get into CSULB, I’m honestly a bit shocked because a 3.74 is nearly a perfect GPA, it means you got mostly A’s with maybe a B here or there. BUT! I had a friend who a few years ago applied to a bunch of Ivy League schools, UCs, and calstates. Surprisingly, they got accepted to Harvard but Long Beach and San Diego rejected them. This was when they were applying to be an incoming freshman but we all thought it was strange regardless.
So long story short… maybe Long Beach said no but San Diego could still say yes! I have my fingers crossed for you too (:
