Hi everyone. I was looking at the calendar and noticed Princeton has a fall break every year around Halloween... I was kind of disappointed because I was looking forward to my first American halloween, but alas. I was wondering: what do the students do during this break? Is it possible to stay on campus?

Princeton celebrates Halloween on the last Thursday before fall break…people go out to the Street in costumes etc. As for fall break you can definitely stay on campus (the dorms are open for students) and there’s a fair number of people who hang around for a variety of reasons. It’s by no means a ghost town. Winter break on the other hand basically clears out the entire campus.

You mean Princetoween? :)

It’s a thing, and plenty of people celebrate. A good thing to notice is that Halloween colors and Princeton colors are the same. Also, my international roommates have always stayed for Fall break as well (as well as a decent number of American students).

Thank you very much! You were both extremely helpful!
