fall transfer orientation

@anexia Honestly, you should wait until the Spring semester to take your UGS. I’m trying to find a class I can replace as soon as possible because I want to take something that actually interest me. You won’t get any of the interesting UGS that you would want to take. It seems like they’re only opening up the lame ones… And the 302s. UGS 302s have a lot of writing in them and I ain’t bout that life.

So if you want a non boring class that you learn things that you’re really interested in, wait until the Spring. If you don’t care and you just want an easy A… well just pick one.

What backup classes do you guys have? I am pretty much finish with all of my basics and if my engineering class fills up, I don’t really know what to take. I was thinking about taking some easy A classes, but the thing is, all the easy teachers are already filled up.

i think it’s really just this semester that we’ll have to worry about. i have nothing to base it on, but it’s my opinion that we’ll get most of the classes themselves that we need to, one way or another. but it’s probably just our actual time schedules that are going to suck. i don’t think my classes will be too hard to get into. i’m just looking for mechanics/engineering physics I, differential equations, and then swedish or french. i’m hoping the foreign language classes aren’t too insane, because they are 6 units! even my calculus I class was only 5. i’m trying not to take all my easy classes at once (ugs, humanities requirement, foreign language) because i left all my hard classes until the end of my associate’s degree. and in the end ALL of my classes were those classes, and man did it suck! my gpa dropped from almost a 3.9 to a 3.4 just in the past semester and a half. i’m finishing up the degree by the end of the summer and i’m struggling just to make a 3.5 cumulative.

@anexia Thanks for the update! We’d have to to figure out seven alternatives to each class. That’s a lot to look for!

Are any of you guys planning to take the VAPA or humanities courses this fall?

i might end up taking my humanities class. i already have credit for my visual and performing arts.

@anexia Great! You won’t have to bother about one of these. The VAPA courses seem as difficult to get into as the UGS.

What did your adviser have to say about the humanities courses?Since I need credit for all of them I was planning on taking the humanities course if I don’t get a UGS/VAPA course but recently realized that the one I wanted is restricted by major.

she said basically that E 316K is the ONLY class you can take that will fulfill the humanities requirement. it’s masterworks of literature and you can pick between american, british or world. i read a lot already, mostly american stuff, so i figure i’ll pick british or world.

@ anexia I guess I mixed that up with something else.Anyways,Thanks for the info!

BUMP AND QUESTION specifically for transfers

did you have a lot of trouble getting your credits to transfer over? im looking into advertising
