Registration for classes for transfers

So I've registered for some classes BUT I don't have my first choice schedule. Anyone have some insight to make it better? Thanks.

I don’t have my 1st choice schedule either, all my classes are MWF back to back, and they’re science/math intensive. no bueno  but I’m going to keep checking the course schedule for ways to find a TTH class that I need. The advisor told me the week before and the week after are when most people drop/add classes so that’s when you will seriously be able to move classes around.

I never figured out who you were, although I was looking to match CC people at orientation. Lol.

Don’t worry about not getting your first choice schedule. I didn’t even get a BA 324 class!!! I’m only signed up for 7 credit hours, but I’m on 4 waitlists. So now I have to try and get a BA 324 class on July 1.

Our best bet is going to be checking back on August 15 because that’s when people will get dropped for not paying (I think that’s when it is).

My brother has been going to UT for a year now and he said that if you sign up for a class with a waitlist of 5 people or less, then you have a good chance of getting the class.

Also, were you wearing pink pants on the second day of orientation?

Nah, I had plaid shorts and the Texas means Business shirt on the second day. I think it’s August 18th actually…What time does the July 1st registration start?

Not sure about the July 1st registration time. One of the advisors just told me that they’d be opening up some BA 324 courses and she told me to try then. I’d imagine that it opens at 1 just like it did for us.

It’s August 10th that people get dropped. I’m only registered for 2 courses that I’m really excited about and the three other courses that I want I’m at the top of the waitlist and fully expect to get in.

My recommendation is to religiously check the online course schedule. Right now is open registration for most people and there is shifting of schedules going on all over the place.

Good example: C S 303E with A. Norman was open, and then went to a waitlist, then opened again two days before registration. Right before registration its status changed to “closed”. I knew that something wasn’t right because it was waitlisted at one time and now was acting as if there was no waitlist attached to it. So a few hours later I checked it again and it said waitlisted instead of closed and I was able to grab the first spot on the waitlist.

Just keep checking on the courses you care about and utilize the waitlists. You can be on up to four waitlists at a time and can set up an automatic switching system.
