Just submitted mine, anyone else applying?
I applied a little over a week ago, but I’m not really expecting anything because I found my essay to be rather bad (I had lots of trouble with this prompt…) and my ACT is well below what would be standard for Pomona. Too bad, I’d love to be flied out to California and see the campus, but oh well! Good luck to you anyway!
@berkdork Best of luck to you as well! And who knows, sometimes people feel bad about how they did on a test or essay but things unexpectedly turn out much better
I applied! I think my app was pretty strong, but I’m not sure if I’ll be admitted seeing as I’m not a racial minority. I am lgbt and first gen/low income though, so that might count for diversity. I hope so! Pomona is my dream school and I’m far too far away to be able to visit without a travel waiver
@greenerthoughts I’m also an LGBT+ first gen college student as well! Good luck to you!
I think I won’t be able to submit until later which really sucks because it says they strongly recommend an early application. Oh well.
Accepted to the September date!!! Ahhh literally so exciting!
Me too @berkdork ! I’m so excited! Pomona is my dream school!!!
@greenerthoughts Congrats! Excited to see you and the school in less than a month!
Where are you from? I’m coming all the way from Virginia–it’s going to a long flight!
@berkdork Lol I’m from Texas!! My flight will be long as well, though not quite as long as yours
Hey guys! I got accepted to the September date aswell! I’m coming from Miami haha, excited to meet you guys
Accepted to September date!! I’m from Arizona:)
How much does it cost for this program?
Accepted from Chicago, congrats to everyone else! This’ll be my first time on a plane, and it’s to California! Can’t wait to meet you all
I’m so excited!! Pomona is my dream school as well! I was so sure I wouldnt get in but this gives me some hope about getting into Pomona College later on. Excited to see some of you in less than a month!
@DreamforIvy It doesn’t cost anything to attend. When you applied you chose to apply for a travel grant or not, but if you didn’t apply for that / didnt recieve the grant, you have to pay for your transportation. That’s it though! All meals and stuff is covered.
@Gracethecat22 Apparently it’s very likely that fly-in acceptees will be accepted into the college!!
@greenerthoughts have you heard of a set percentage of fly-in acceptees who were accepted or is it just kind of a trend? thanks!
@Gracethecat22 Not sure how applicable this is to Pomona, but I also got into Williams’ flyout program and after doing a bit of googling, I found that roughly 85% of people attending their flyout are accepted. It might count as demonstrated interest or something, but I’d say it definitely increases your odds of acceptance!
Thanks @NickJtFly5! I will be attending Williams program as well so that is very helpful info!
