Family business work?

<p>I create the websites for my dad's insurance & jet ski business, also, over the summer I have come in to help file part time (while summer schooling Precalc). Is this frowned upon compared to normal work? Does my dad need to put me on payroll for it to be valid? Will it do me any good with college applications?</p>

<p>Working for the family business is a wonderful EC for the purpose of college applications. The work you are doing on the web sites sounds both creative and interesting, and yes, filing needs to get done too. No, you don’t have to be on the payroll.</p>
