Family/Parent Weekend

posting on my D's name but would appreciate input on making the most of the upcoming family weekend. We plan to be on campus 1/2 day Friday and Saturday. Dont see anything planned for Sunday. Thanks

Not sure what time of day everything is, but don't forget to check out the Guild of Carillonneurs' Open Tower.

Ditto on the Guild. It's your chance to see the inside of a bell tower and to watch a live performance of a rarely seen (but often heard) aspect of daily student life.

Go to Prof. Lynch's lecture on the Middle Ages! 4pm on Friday.

Skip the ticketed events in Boston (whale watch, duck boat tour, Shear Madness) unless you don't think you'll be back to the region again. All of those events are always in Boston and are very easy to get tickets for.

The concerts are always fun, and the groups put in incredible amounts of time and effort to put the events together.

Greenhouses = hidden treasure. Too few students know how extensive and varied the greenhouses are. The plant life on the rest of campus is carefully planned with specific goals in mind (oftento foster native/local plant and animal life), but the greenhouses are filled with both everyday and exotic plants. They're a great way to spend an hour or two.

So ... I would recommend sticking to the on-campus events that look interesting. If you want to do something in the city, do it on your own. You'll have more flexibility, more options, and more opportunity to spend some quality time with your daughter.
