yeah I have issues with submitting grades online, but i’ll definitely do that

If your status says your app is currently being reviewed, it really might be important to get that ACT score FAXed today. The scholarship candidates are selected very quickly and notified in late January/early Feb. Sending the scores in after the first of the year will be fine for regular acceptance, because they will come back to your application after they finish the scholarship round, but too late for scholarship consideration. FAX the score TODAY.

I will UNDERLINE what alamemom says: FAX THE SCORE TODAY.

My inside knowledge? My H is on the faculty and sits on those scholarship panels. IIRC, he gets contacted in early January for tenative availability dates/times.

do we fax the copies of our score reportsd it or mail to them?

I have a quick question, senior year first semester I made the best grades in all my years of high school. Can I send in my midyear transcript though they haven’t requested it yet, and have it influence my admission, or should I wait until they request?

@mat6777
no, don’t fax your score reports, you want to score report with college board/ACT, I just faxed mine because they were a huge improvement and wanted to make sure that they had them asap, and that they could confirm them with the official score report when it arrived. If this is the case for you, faxing it can’t hurt, but they definitely eventually need an official copy.

@ttliyusu2
yes you can send your grades to them without them asking, and they will help if they are very good.

How do we know if USC has recieved our supplementary forms (transcripts, recs, scores). I’m not sure if I put enought postage on my envelope. I don’t see a place on the USC website where they tell you the status of your supplementary materials. All other schools I applied had this info on the website.

hey guys one question:

In the USC application, in the undergraduate application section, there is a question- Birthplace. And for the answer it is like City: [Answer].
Then right after that question, but in another box, it asks ‘Country’.

For the country question, do I tell them the country that i currently live in or the one that I was born in?

Abdallah, you can check your documents here: https://camel2.usc.edu/ESD/IOL/login.aspx Click “New? Sign up.” and create an account. Then click “My Admissions Checklist” and then “Browse available forms in our document library.”

crazi4uni, as there are identical city names in many countries, I would think that yes, they would like to know both the city and the country of your birth.

Are the essays taken into account a great deal? Because I consider myself primarily a writer, and while my grades/SAT scores are fairly average compared to the other applicants, a lot of people have told me great things about my essay. Unfortunately I don’t think that’s making me stand out from other applicants with other school I’ve applied to. How much does USC look at essays, creative accomplishments, and community service. I have a lot of those things, and my academics are pretty good but nothing “special.” I’d like to think that some colleges care about personality, and I’m not sure if USC is one of those schools. I also would like some type of merit aid.

My application is being reviewed right now. If they make a decision in the next few days, it would definitely help if they’ve seen my senior grades since they are very good. However, the semester has not ended and my school doesn’t send out mid-year reports until after January. What should I do?

If your semester has not ended and you do not have yet have mid-year grades, you have nothing to submit.
When you get your mid-year grades, submit them. Grades submitted in February will be in plenty of time to be considered for admission.

I know there’s plenty time for admission but what about scholarships?

opheliarose, since you haven’t yet received your mid-year grades they can not yet be submitted. I cannot think of any way around that.

If it makes you feel any better, mid-year grades are not generally part of the early admission process - most of those who are invited for scholarship consideration are never asked for their mid-year grades.

I was a bit premature with an earlier post regarding when faculty members are called to sit on scholarship interviews. I thought it was earlier in the month.

I can now definitely say the call (email) went to faculty last week. My H confirmed this (although for obvious reasons will not be participating in the process THIS year.) This means if they are going to be scheduling the faculty AND the applicants, then I suppose those fortunate scholarships students should be hearing imminently.

Hey guys I have a quick question

when I try to log onto my USC undergrad application, it sends me to this website:
https://camel2.usc.edu/OASIS/Login.aspx

what does that mean?

does anyone get accepted in the first wave and NOT get invited for a scholarship interview? or not get a dean’s scholarship? in other words…if you got an Acceptance package this week does that mean you will get an invite? When you click on “explore USC” if there is no mention of signing up for an interview does that mean you won’t get an invite later in the week?

I second chattykathy’s question.

I’m in a terrible situation. Due to some personal issues in my life (I have depression), I got really behind in school. Now I’m trying to catch up so I can graduate on time. Since Honors and AP require even more work that I’m doing now, I’ve been taking regular courses so I can be in senior year by the fall. I was going to apply to NYU for early decision but apparently they care a lot about AP courses. I was wondering will USC care if I didn’t take AP or Honors? I really don’t want this to be the reason why colleges won’t accept me.I plan on majoring in Journalism, I do love Los Angeles and I want to work in entertainment journalism so USC would be perfect school for me.
