<p>I really agree with these. Everyone’s situation is different, but being farther away and seeing your family less doesn’t mean your relationship becomes weaker - often it becomes stronger. </p>

<p>Anyways, though I was given the choice to choose, instead of wanting me to stay close my parents kind of wanted me to go farther, like ~9 hrs, b/c they thought it’d be the best opportunity and everything, experience a place farther from home, learn more independence / growing up, etc. etc… It’s not because they wouldn’t want me to stay closer or I didn’t want to stay closer, of course we would both love to be able to stay w/in an hour or so apart, but who knows</p>

<p>I actually know a guy whose D got accepted to Michigan and Boston college and he persuaded her to go to BC because he likes visiting Boston over Ann Arbor.
At least this is the story that he tells us.</p>
