We will be bringing our son to GT this summer for the Faset Orientation. On the website, there are programs/activities for the student and parents for the 2 days. We are thinking of making it a mini-vacation to Atlanta (it's a long drive for us for just a couple of days) so we would be bringing our other 2 younger children with us. Do they just accompany us on the 'parents orientation' or will there be something else planned for siblings, or should we just leave them home? I'd hate for them to be sitting at the hotel waiting for us. Any info would be great! Thanks

Yes they are more than welcome to accompany you during the parents orientation. Consider participating in the bus tour of Atlanta. While your son will be busy with his own activities, it could be a nice outing for the rest of your family.

What exactly is Faset?

FASET stands for “Familiarization and Adaptation to the Surroundings and Environs of Tech.” It is the orientation program that Tech organizes for incoming freshman each summer. While it is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged and helps students understand how things like classes, housing and dining will work. It also provides an opportunity to meet other students and ask questions of upperclassmen.
