Do colleges vary with their deadlines for the fafsa to be sent to them? Some request that it be sent to them only if you decide to enroll...should you send it anyway at the time of filing (Jan-Feb)?

Yes, colleges do vay with their deadlines. I have not heard of ones requesting it only be sent if you decide to enroll, but I certainly am not familiar with all colleges. I would send it whenever that college wants it.

thanks, just in case if you're wondering....Brandeis & Bucknell are some of those that request the fafsa after deciding to enroll

Now why would they want the FAFSA after you enroll? That date can be May 1. By that time, the finaid monies should have been awarded. Both Brandeis and Bucknell are deadline schools...admissions are sent April 1. Most people do not make a decision about college enrollment until they have their finaid in hand...which includes filling out the FAFSA.

perhaps that is a comment about their financial aid policies
Either they have so much money- they can guarentee to meet 100% of need to whomever they accept- or the aid is so negligible as not not make it the deciding factor
But neither Brandeis or Bucknell are on the students with most debt list OR the students with least debt- so I wouldn't know why they don't send out an aid package at same time as an acceptance
