Congrats to everyone that got in!!! I think all rejections were sent out already. I called the admissions office and they said i’ll hear back before April 1st. Hopefully good news! Wish me luck!!

Still waiting lol

Oh my gosh, am still waiting as well. I call today and a ldy said that some applications haven’t been reviewed yet.
Idk I want to stay hopeful but its getting really hard to!
I’ve been reading this thread since yesterday & just out of curiousity I was wondering what the applicants who got accepted had as their gpa & if they took extracurriculars?? I’m a junior in HS right now & I want to apply for next year! I dont have the best gpa… (3.1) but my class rank is 16% & my sat’s also arent good. I live in Texas btw! I was looking into AMC mostly.
@isaaoo I’m not the best student on paper. I applied with a 2.98 GPA, a 1710 on the SAT, very few extra curriculars.
I attended the MICA precollege program and I think my essay was pretty good, and I tried to have my portfolio be as impressive as possible.
I got in for Illustration, which I think might not be as competitive as some other majors (I’ve only been able to find like two people total who are applying for FITs illustration department.)
@isaaoo In high school I was a decent student with a 3.3 gpa and barely did extracurricular. I wanted to apply but didn’t have the courage to. Now, after high school, I went to community college and volunteered, upped my grades and got on the Deans List. I applied this January with a 3.58 college gpa and got into the AMC 1 year program. A well rounded student with a good gpa can easily make it in.
