Fashion marketing/ merchandising?

Anyone have info on this program? Does Marist have internships in NYC? How is the job placement? What is the program like?

Given the small number of Marist alumni on this board, you may not get an answer, but you can probably get some of that information directly from Marist. I know that some kids take the train from Marist to NYC for their internships (in whatever field). I also know that fashion marketing / merchandising is one of Marist’s specialties, beyond just the small liberal arts core. Another specialty is communications, which has to be helpful for a marketing major.

Thanks EngrMom, I was hoping some current students or recent grads were on this board but yoy seem to be right, this forum is pretty inactive.

I know that the students go into the city and bring back different articles of clothing and accessories, they then host small sales and stuff like that in Marist itself. They do this so the students can get a feel of what it is like to go into NYC and purchase goods from the merchandisers then bring it back and resell it.

I don’t go to Marist; however, I went to their summer program for fashion marketing/merchandising. It seems like they have a really spectacular program and great internships. Yes, students take the train to the city for internships. One of the professors, who works with students to find internships, is fabulous. And students can participate in internships as early as their sophomore year. I woudl stongly reccommend applying if you want a job in fashion merchandising but dont feel ready to live in the city yet

How difficult is it to get into this program. Is there a minimun GPA/SAT requirement or do they look at a portfolio live other fashion programs? Any scholarship availability?
