fat girls in UCSD?

holly ****, i try to make a pretty good observation and all of a sudden i am insulting “fat” people. no i dont think fat people are dumb, im saying in a very GENERAL sense that taking care of yourself tends to be a trend of more intelligent people. not to deny that some people really do just have the genes to be bigger.

geez calm down and dont get your panties in a bunch.

@Tornados

Uh, its not only genetic. Follow a fat person around for a day, and then follow a skinny person around. Fat people eat more calorific food and exercise less BY CHOICE.

^AGREED completely, thank you for saying this! Many doctors have told me for MOST fat people it’s not genetic.

so why am i the a$$hole for saying it first? bahahahaahahaha

no but seriously my friend and i work out every day and his body just wont let go of an extra 40 lbs. so some of it is body type, but OBESITY is def a choice in 90% situations. and YES it is smarter to treat your body right

so questions - do people tend to dislike fat people more. will you not hang out with them just cause of their size.

this is not accusing anyone of it just a general question.

I personally have had negative experiences with ‘fat’ friends in that they are insecure and clingy. Which really does not agree with my personality type. I am not saying this applies to ALL fat people, it has just been my experience. But people are very open and welcoming at UCSD in general and likely won’t discriminate based on weight.

To all you vapid, shallow jerks. “Fat” people are usually MUCH smarter than their skinny, chicken-chested counterparts. While i have never been overweight, so I cannot say exactly how it feels, I do have a brother who was tormented, tortured all throughout school. It sickens me that you would even mention this. Anyone who would bring this up or defend this has got to have the small hands/feet disorder that all you freaked out males fear. And guess what boys…all your girlfriends really do tell EVERYONE that you have a pencil ***k.

Now I know why I hate it that I was accepted to this shallow ass school.

@Tornados:

Certainly not defending this idiotic thread, but if you judge the entire school based on one thread on the internet, you’re just as guilty as they are of small-minded thinking. Relax and enjoy yourself at UCSD-- immaturity is occasionally present no matter what university you choose.

@Tornados

Why do you insist on bashing UCSD in all your posts? We get it- you don’t want to come here. You’ve made yourself perfectly clear.

Anyway, like jamesinho said, don’t judge a campus of 22,000 students on the immaturity of a few people on an internet forum. And if you think the kids at USD or any other campus are any more mature as a whole, then you are in for a nasty suprise wherever you end up.

@tornados

wow, but wouldn’t the “small hands and feet” be the thing due solely to genetics? being fat is not. being fat is a person’s choice, and dont say im a “vapid, shallow jerk” because i was an obese ■■■■ until about 6th grade, and i thank soccer for making me on the bottom 10 percentile of “athlecity” to the top 10 percentile. i was a round riceball that couldnt do a pushup or pullup, and yes, it sucked balls, but i did something about it.

oh, and btw, chicken chested =/= not fat. bodybuilders have some of the least fat of all the general populace, but they are far from chicken chested. your blanket statement fails at best.

and btw, i think this thread is some ********. so what if there are fat people? what does it make a difference? if you’re gona be such a big dick about it, then i feel sorry for you. i think the question they should ask you is are YOU a fat guy… which im not implying, but showing the absurdity of your question.

wow… i think we should stop posting on this thread? =/ seems like a lot of people are arguing/debating…

btw i’m a “fat” person who got accepted into ucsd this yr… not sure if i’ll go but… =/ iono… i don’t think being fat has to do with anything… personally, i’ve never been “skinny” my whole life but it hasn’t bothered me much? and i’ve been pretty into athletics even if i wasn’t ever skinny… like… i’ve swam from kindergarten to third grade… played soccer from fourth to sixth grade… played tennis from seventh to eighth grade… and then played on varsity golf for my high school year.

my goal is to lose weight before going to college because yeahh… i’ve heard at college, it’s good to have self-confidence and being fat does kind of make people feel self-conscious

=)

jamesinho…you are right, I am lowering myself to their level. I just don’t think this type of post would be found or tolerated at any other school. I am done posting about this nonsense.

And to the rest of you. Let me explain. I don’t want to go to UCSD, it is my last choice of college for many reasons. Let’s be fair though, not all of my posts are negative. I am just trying to get used to having to go to a school that I was pushed into applying due to financial considerations. It is the cheapest way for me to get my degree, outside of a CC. You are right, I am taking my anger out on these boards…not very fair of me. Since I am stuck without any other options, I came here to get to know the school. I have not been very fair and will work on doing better. But I am sad, I am disappointed that this is the school I have to go to. I didn’t expect to feel so angry looking at these boards. I will just watch what I say.

Regarding obesity being genetic. Of course it is. Look at all the studies through NIH. What makes me sad though is the bigotry against someone who is overweight. Don’t you all realize they are human beings, just like you and me. They are getting picked on for being overweight, think about it~~~that is so stupid. I hate it. I will never tolerate that sort of crap. Just try living with someone who has endured this nonsense and you will get it. It is a form of harassment. You cannot harass gays, you cannot harass people of color, you cannot harass women, you cannot harass people of different religions, but whoa, bring in the fat guy/girl and you all have a field day. What is wrong with just accepting someone who is overweight for the kind person they are? What is wrong with not letting it bother you? Who cares if they are fat??? Let them live without your bitter ridicule.

And to the person who said the little hands and little feet are genetic, so be it. We all know what that means. My point is the person who started this thread and everyone who has been shallow enough to make it their joke as well, must suffer from the feared male syndrome (that all girls are SHOCKED at) and that is having a pencil d**k. That is the only kind of person who would write this crap, period. Gotta make up for their lack of manhood by making fun of the fat girls.

^ But why do you hate UCSD so much? It is an excellent school with an excellent reputation, a beautiful campus, a stimulating learning environment, brilliant professors, and a bright and motivated student body.

I’m not saying that UCSD is the best school for everyone (though it is perfect for me), I’m just saying that there are hundreds of far worse schools, and all things considered, UCSD really isn’t a bad choice for anyone.

Why are you so upset with your admission? I was ecstatic when I got in!

@tornados

If you don’t want to come here, don’t come here, and if you want to bash the school, bash it when you get here and actually know what you’re talking about. I agree with what you’re saying about making fun of people. It’s stupid, I know.

Zippidyduda & $KingsElite$, I don’t want to go to UCSD because it is in my own backyard. I really wanted to get away, you know? Go some place different. It is a great school and I know that. It just makes me sad that I don’t get the full college experience with dorms and all if I go there. So, I am upset and taking it out on all the wrong things.

Didn’t mean to bash…just sad that I am going to miss out on so much because we don’t have any money…so I was being stupid. Sorry.

$KingsElite$, thanks for understanding, I just don’t like to see anyone hurt by being made fun of. It causes ppl so much pain and usually they will not stand up for themselves. I kills me when I see that happening. No one on this earth is lower than anyone else, we just have different lives, make different choices, but that does not make one person more worthy/unworthy than the next. That was my point, but I allowed my anger to interfere (and that was my mistake).

I love ALL people, but have a huge amount of compassion for how horribly fat people are treated. I want to change that.

tornados, you are making very large, blanket, and non intelligent remarks/ claims.

i understand that you are a little over sensitive because your brother is obese (or so what i have read and understood) but that does not mean that you can discount the generality (large percent) of obese individuals who do NOT eat how they should, and do NOT take care of themselves in a way as to keep themselves in an adequate shape.

i have lots of friends who are rather obese… one is about 350 lbs… do i dislike him for this? no. do i think less of him ? no. however i also hang out with him and KNOW that he sits on the computer all day long and eats tons of crap that is way over the calorie count needed. he really could be smarter with the way that he eats and lives and he could lose weight by simply eating better.

dont bring personal situations and stigmas into a medical debate about diet and being generally intelligent about you diet and activity. it doesnt mean they arent smart or good in other areas, however 90% of the time they are obviously not very smart about this area.

and noone is treating fat people badly on here. we are simply saying that it is not purely genetic and there is a tie in between being smart with your diet and body and being smart academically (generally).

i dont treat anyone badly, let alone fat people. hell i could give a **** less if a person is fat, they are still a good/bad person depending on their actual personallity

ajdavidson07…and I quote your moronic, insipid comment, “and noone is treating fat people badly on here. we are simply saying that it is not purely genetic and there is a tie in between being smart with your diet and body and being smart academically (generally).”

You my friend are obviously are not intelligent enough or well-schooled enough to know about genetics and bariatrics. Do yourself a little favor, do some reading, do some research, and quit judging the world of overweight people based on your 350 pound gamer buddy. There is ZERO correlation between weight and intelligence. I am stunned that someone who is applying for entry into any college would make such an irresponsible statement. It is sad that you are such a narrow-minded, bigoted individual. That must be difficult for you to go through life that way and I can just imagine how many people feel sorry for you.

In the future though, do not talk about things that you so obviously know nothing about, it only makes you look simple-minded and foolish. Read up, do some research and stop your bigotry, UCSD is trying to rise above that stigma and you are not helping them at all.

Holy feeding the ■■■■■, batman! Let’s stop posting on this thread

enemyunit…agreed. I am done with this.
