Here's my moral dilemma: Due to a scheduling conflict I was told to either take AP Calculus and a non honors history course (trust me when I say that that class is filled with ignorance, one kid thinks there's 48 states, another 52, and some don't know who an Independent is) or Honors Calculus and Honors History. I decided to go for the latter. Here's the catch, instead of having to do Honors Calc work I was allowed to do AP Calc work. Here's the problem, I am not auto-didactic and having to teach myself calculus material has been nothing less than a female dog thus far. So as of yesterday I switched back to Honors Calc because I would learn more there instead of learning AP Calc in a cursory, uninvolved manner. Mind you I'm much more verbally inclined than I am mathematically gifted so I'm relieved, but I also feel like a quitter. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I think I’m happy with my decision. However, I would appreciate some advice, opinions…

I think you made the right decision. My kid got out of H Calc this year and picked up AP Macro instead.

There is not one right way to do high school. Do what challenges you, but keeps you sane. :)

If you feel that it’s the best thing for you, then trust yourself and move on =]

You have made the choice that allows you to learn more and suffer less.
You are done. Move on and be happy.
