SHould I ?

I am taking AP Calculus AB this year as a junior. My average now is 99.

Last Tuesday, I took the first practice test and got 34 ( = a "2").

On Thursday, I took the second one and got 52 (= a"3"). I am 4 points away from a 4.

My goal is 5 or at least a 4.

I will be a repeat junior next year. Should I take AP exam this year and move on to Cal BC next year ? Or Should I retake AP Cal AB next year ?

Yes. Take the calc AB this year. You obviously get the material you just may not test well. Either way, if you do bad on the test than you can cancel it and simply take the BC test next year which I believe has a better curve.

But the problem is money. I don't have a lot of money to do it. My teacher wants to pay for me. It makes me think really hard.

Any more suggestion ?

Wait, you haven't paid for the test yet?

I suppose if you are sure that you'll do well in BC next year, than I would wait. No point in taking a test when you'll get the credit for the BC exam.

No, I have not paid yet. Is there any problem ?

No, it's just that most schools required registration in like March. When is your registration?

My teacher automatically registered for me. I just have to pay the school.

Any more suggestion for me ?

Nope. If you don't want to take it, then don't. They can't make you pay for something you didn't register for.

Will it negatively affect my profile when I apply for college ?

Should I take this year or wait until next year ?

Okay; the thing about APs is -- you only send the ones you want colleges to see.

So would they wonder why this kid take AP Cal AB and there is no AP Cal AB exam score ?

Should I take it this year or taking BC next year ?
