this is a new low on CC...

HEY!! I have a smashing idea...why dont you guys go and buy some mechanical pencils and jab them in your eyes! yay! excitement!

Erm, how about no.

I used to think that mechanical pencils were the coolest until I started running out of lead at very inconvient times. Classic yellow pencils are the best.

OMG, SCHOOL SUPPLIES:):):):):)
I seriously love school supplies especially when it's all new and clean. I spend soooo much time with school supplies its pretty bad. Anyways, I'll list some of the coolest supplies I've found so far below:

Erasers
Magic Rub is the best and the ones with that are like a eraser stick in a tube work pretty well too. I once got a "mood eraser" that changed colors when used, it was pretty awesome. I also vaguely remember "Yikes" erasers from 1st or 2nd they were bright colored and pretty much my favorite part of 2nd grade.

Pencils
I only use mechanical pencils but I'm pretty picky. I don't like the PHD kind because they're all heavy and EXPENSIVE. The titanium ones are nice because they have a little twistout eraser. One time, I found a "liquid pencil." I haven't been able to find it lately but it was cool because it wrote like a pen but erased and looked like a pencil.

Pens
I don't care much about pens as long as they aren't those cheap ballpoint ****ty ones. I like the Pilot G2 ones the best I think. And I always buy pens in lots of colors so that I can doodle and color code notes when I'm bored in class.

Highlighter
I buy a ton of different colored highlighters because I get bored easily so its nice to be able to switch the colors.

Notecards
I use notecards for pretty much anything because they help me memorize stuff a lot. However, I don't buy colored note cards because the pastel ones are ugly and the bright colored ones are hard to see your writing.

Paper
I like legal pads the best because its convenient to be able to tear it off and have a hard backing to write on but I don't usually use the legal pads. Usually, I'll just use the college ruled notebooks or composition books.

Wow.

E-Sharp mechanical pencils by pen tech are the best.

Mirado Black Warriors are the best wooden pencils

Magic Rub is the best eraser ever

Wow, zpmqxonw... you broke it into categories.

Hahaha. I love this topic - it's so amusing.

Anyone know of some extremely fine point pens? I don't really like the ones that I usually find at Super Stop & Shop, and there's such a big selection at Staples and the like that I don't know what's good and what's not.

ANYWAY. I love notebooks. I don't know why, but I love the sight of a fresh, unwritten piece of paper. And it's extremely satisfying to hear the scratch of a very sharp pencil on paper. (: Five Star Premium notebooks are the best. Oh yes, and the paper MUST be college-ruled. I write small, and I have this almost OC habit of conserving paper by squishing 2-3 lines of writing between lines. Non-college-ruled paper makes me wince and think about how much paper I'm wasting. xP

I like G2's too - however, the gel stick shortens relatively quick....

you guys are disgusting...you are truly ill

BIC mechanical pencils with the red/white/blue...things that stick off at the eraser end. They're the smart people pencils.

trader... i'm glad i'm not alone in this thought...

What's so wrong in liking school supplies?
Some people like buying shoes. Or food.
We all like buying office/school supplies.
I have a thing with being organized.
I don't think that makes me "ill" or "disgusting"
So, honestly, guys- calm down.

Two words: Pilot G2

i dont think its ill or disgusting.. its just weird

So we're a little quirky...? It's CC - what did you expect?

i suppose but if you're already quirky, why do things to make you quirkier?

lol it's not like i walk into Staples and force myself to love pencils and pens, dude.

You wouldn't... because Staples rips you off :)

nah make, you walk into Office Depot and force yourself to love pencils and pens, sorry for the confusion ^_^

I don't walk into office supply stores and become enamored with the varieties and sorts of pens, pencils, staplers, erasers, and all things magical in school supplies.

Those were just my thoughts. :/

"i suppose but if you're already quirky, why do things to make you quirkier?"

Wouldn't the acts of declaring love for pens and pencils be a result of being quirky rather than as a means to gain quirky points? Surely we don't do things to heighten levels of whatever our personality traits. Does the OP consciously decide "I want to buy XYZ eraser today to be quirkier" or is she naturally quirky and then goes buy the XYZ eraser?
