Favorite Spot on Campus

What is everyone's favorite spot on campus? This could be for studying, chilling, hanging, or eating.

I have a few favorite places now that I've been to orientation. As for places to eat, I really kind of like Bubble Tea. It's a litttle cafe a few blocks off of campus that serves slushies, etc. (I'm kind of nervous to try the actual bubbles. The slushies are good though.) It's really laid back in there.

On campus, I really like the Diag area and the Fishbowl area. Also, even though they don't show you this during orientation, the upper levels of the Grad Library are really cool. They have little isolated areas kind of spread throughout them where people can study. The views of the area up there from the windows are also awesome. (I kind of got a mini private tour of the place after my orientation session was over so that's how I've seen it. It was fun.)

I've been to that place in Cambridge; you should give the bubbles a try, feels really wierd.

What would be the best place to take someone out on a date?

My favorite place is the Big House on game day, of course.

Date ideas: a play or concert at Hill, ice skating at Yost, walking through the Arb, Potbelly's, Seva, Mongolian Barbeque, a movie at the Michigan Theater, Amer's, a Michigan hockey or basketball game, play tennis at Palmer courts.

Anywhere but 1800 Chem Building. Let us just say I have flashbacks whenever I think of that auditorium! But stick me anywhere else on campus, and I am good.

any seat on the 50 yard line ...

The Big House, Crisler Arena (it has to be a big game like mich st. or illinois though because otherwise people don't get into it), the diag, palmer, basically anwhere EXCEPT the dennison building...grrrr I hate going there. I liked 1800 chem Alex...I had orgo there, and it was my favorite lecture hall.

I'd like to go on record saying that Bubble Island is waaaaaay overrated (they serve bubble tea, but they are not called bubble tea as reeses said). They put too many bubbles in the smoothies and they don't even use real fruit. If you've never tried bubble tea before, you might realize you like it, but I've been places with MUCH MUCH better bubble smoothies. Anyways, don't get suckered into it.

That's too bad; the place in Cambridge is great. I guess I'll check it out anyway though. I didn't get too much time to look around at Campus Days, so I'm really looking forward to orientation in a couple of weeks.

samwise which orientation are you going to

July 17; how about you?

my orientation is
july 25

I like the area around the League. People-watching on Ingalls mall is great, and the flower beds and the water fountain there are gorgeous. The courtyard is a nice place to have lunch, and there's always a mix of students, staff, and medical people from dentistry/University Health Service.

samwise & midnightsun,
See if you can stay over/arrive early for the Art Fair (July 20-23)

http://www.artfair.org/

GoBlue81,

I'm thinking about stopping by sometime during that fair to check it out and to explore the campus some more. Do you know of any good places to park around the area? Not really sure how that'll work out yet...

reeves,

You can probably tell from my handle that I've graduated many years ago. Someone else will have to help you on that.

In my days, the booths on S University and State St are the best. There are several public parking structures around that area... though I can imagine it will be hard to find a space with 500,000 visitors coming for the Fair. Wonder if they will let you park on the lawn like on football Saturday...

I'll be there July 22-24 for drum line camp so I'll catch part of the art fair.

hey can n e one tell me how much a single football ticket costs. I don't think i wanna buy the whole season pass cause the only 2 fball games i REALLY wanna go to for sure are OSU vs Mich and ND vs Mich lol. And how far in advance should we buy em?

As a student buy the season ticket package!!!!!!! Single game tickets are very expensive and very hard to obtain. If you don't want to go to other games, you can scalp your tickets on www.thediag.com, which is like an eBay for Ann Arbor. You will by the way want to go to the Minnesota Brown Jug Game (Homecoming).
