Favorite thing

Since the thread is so lively, let’s start a new topic.

What was your deciding factor in choosing sd?

the insanely gorgeous people.

that and the academics/weather/proxmity to TJ

academics and location

I loved the college system within the university. Any way to avoid math GEs is fine by me.

San Diego is the second largest city in California, isn't it? After LA, of course. Let the good times roll.

i also liked the college system

how it sort of has an intimate feel like a LAC even though it's a huge college and has all of the opportunities of a huge research institution.

and the sun god festival. Cause i think that's gonna be awesome.

what exactly goes down during Sun god?

i saw pictures with a slip and slide through the sun god's leg on some website

I didn't get into UCLA

My friends told me they would kill me if I chose UCI for its women. (oh by the way, does anyone know how far the commute is from UCSD to UCI?)

Sun God festival = campus turns into SDSU, everyone drinks, huge concert.

after admit day, i went to uci. It took us about an hour, but that's WITHOUT traffic.

The research emphasis they have.

OCaptina "My friends told me they would kill me if I chose UCI for its women."

On of my friends is definately going to UCI for that reason. Coming from rural N CA he is looking foreward to Orange County girls...

vii: How did the UCI campus look in comparison to UCSD's? I've only seen UCSD.

rdw: Did your friend also get into UCSD? To this day, despite already submitting my SIR, I feel that I am missing out on a lot of fun at UCI for a better education at UCSD. Is the difference in the quality of education great enough to sacrifice for the beautiful asian fobstresses at UCI? Hmm..

I heard the area around UCI is pretty boring too. When three of my friends went there for orientation/admit day, they said it sucked and that they were kinda disappointed.

YOU BETTER GO TO SD OR ELSE. AND YES IM THREATENING YOU. >:|

You suh-wear UCSD doesn't have hot girls. Vi's one of them. You don't have to go searching any longer, boys. :]

heyy, i'm from rural norcal too! i live by hella sheeps!! they got sheered recently so..i'm kinda sad.
anyway, i went to uci's campus last may for a real tour. personally, i didn't really do much for me. it's soo..."Generic." It doesn't really have any distinct characteristics like geisel, the campanile, ucsb's tower thing, etc. it was all rather bland. And the school is like a huge circle..so you can't really get lost.
I stayed at my cousin's house in Tustin (really close to Irvine) adn it's pretty boring mostly bc it's upper class suburbia. uci is close to some shopping centers..including spectrum..which has a huge ferris wheel..so that's pretty cool.

it doesn't matter if there are hot girls (even though there are HELLA..specially on this forum) or not because
1.) if you just wanna make friendly and hook up ...everyone looks the smae in the dark or when drunk (so i've heard)
2.) if yu want a relationship, you'll get passed looks

the chillax and study while having fun attitude

My dad works at UCI---don't go there.

laid back-ness & love the campus + academics + didnt get into LA hehe

UCI is a decent school, don't get me wrong, but it's like a lesser version of UCSD in terms of pretty much everything, from academics to prestige. It's right next to Newport Beach, so if you like upper-class elitist OC people, then maybe Irvine is right for you. I'd die before purposely going to UCI.

Coming from Irvine, I'd say that it's a very beautiful and safe city, but it's more of a family place and less of a college town. That might explain why there's nothing to do. =]P
Going back to the original topic, I chose UCSD because
1. Location. BEACH! BEACH! BEACH!
2. Away from Irvine =] but close enough to bounce back home for emergencies (ex: cravings for mom's cooking =]P)
3. Academics
4. Didn't get into ucla =P

Rejected by Berkeley

Many of my best friends already go to/are going to UCSD/SDSU

Academics

Beaches

Viiiiiiiiii

Oyama lol vi dat's perty funny you should just change the 6 to 1 :p

oh man. that pretty much made my day, kenny.

speaking of berkeley rejections, I ****ed about not getting a real rejection letter. CURSE YOU CAL!
