I guess UCSD is the hottest UC right now

Well, UCSD’s thread seems to be on fire compared to other UC’s

I think it's because UCSD kiddos tend to be college mongers---you know, the kind that everyone hates.

lol that's funny

It's pretty true. People sure as hell don't go to UCSD to party, and it's selective enough to siphon out the not-so-smart people.

i think will be perty fun. plus i got into the easiest GE school muir, so i'll probably double major in something i'm interested in such as film studies lol i dont' know but when i visited ucsd ... EVERYONE seemed to be studying...

Hmm. So this basically foreshadows the social scene. OH well. <3 it!

there's gotta be SOMETHING bumpin' at UCSD at night...it just can't be THAT utterly dead.

... it is, heh heh. UCSD is a great school, but thats exactly what it is-- a great school, an institution of higher learning. When I went to tour it last weekend, I went to the campus Friday night so I could see where I would need to be for the tour the next morning, and it was dead. I drove around for a couple of minutes before I found someone close enough to stop and ask, and when I asked that guy how to get to sixth, I couldn't understand a word he said (FOB).

Having said that though, if you put the effort in, you can always make your own social scene. With the right friends, right effort, and right attitude, you can have fun at night =)

Yeah this was a deciding factor in whether i should choose SD or not; but i figured there is so much to do, people are just being ridiculous. First, you have the beach about 10 minutes away where you can bask in the sun, play in the water, surf, kayak et cetera. Also, you have Downtown San Diego which is a metropolitan city, there should be alot of stuff to do. Granted alot of it is restaurants and bars but there is other stuff. For sports while UCSD isnt that good, you have professional sports: Chargers for NFL and the Padres for MLB. Also, you have Tijuana about 30-45 minutes away where you can explore the baja peninsula, buy/smoke cubans, and party if you want, since the drinking age is at the most 18, might even be 16. Additionally, you have LA about 2 hrs away if you want some more options for the weekends. Then on top of all of this you have campus clubs which should provide you with something to do. There are also concerts and a movietheatre. So for someone to say UCSD is 'socially dead' is just ignorant. Sure there arent keggers every night and we dont have great sports teams to unite us as a school but that still shouldnt stop you from having fun.

indeed

i will have fun

look how much we're responding to this thread. haha that's why our cc has so many posts. the other UC kids would probably read it and go on their merry little ways. BUT US, UCSD-ERS....no! we can't just read it. we must posts nad post and post some more.

Yes, UCSD does seem to be a "happening" forum. I think it should even have the UCSD 2009 and UCSD 2010 sub-forums like all the other big schools.

Heh; this whole UCSD forum is a class of '10 forum. You've got your regulars posting daily; vii, Oyama, hoboknifefight, fakeplastictrees, swts0litude, CecileMLdubois, et cetera.

this forum should be placed under top university section instead of under C....

i hate clicking multiple links to get to this forum..

Just favorite/bookmark it, Senson. You visit it often enough just like the rest of us.

And yeah, we are the hottest UC this year. We have the hottest people too. Okay, maybe not. But hey, from the looks of our batch here on CC, we could give other UC's a run for their money.

i shall do that!

but i should reframe from visitign too often until next week...

after ap tests...

@senson.
yeah, don't bookmark it just yet. maybe having to click on so many links will deter you from visit....so you can study for aps instead.

i like that we're all slightly dorky. :) But only slightly mind you. :P

Just enough. :)

Haha. I'm a regular now. I haven't even been in these forums a week!

This forum is very fun, though--I must agree. I post in nearly all of the UC forums and there is no one else to really talk to.

And NewSlang is right! Aside from me, we probably are the hottest UC batch in the system :}
