<p>We know. My best friend, Candice, got accepted to UCB and UCLA for Bio/BioE and chose UCSD (BioE major).</p>

<p>for me, ucsd is more fitting. i'd choose it over berk. but at the same time, i want a letter. i feel after spending 60 bux on each application, i should get SOMETHING back.</p>
<p>We're going to need to get over the fact that many of the current and future students attending UCSD will have been rejected from more statistically competitive universities. The truth of the matter is that a vast, vast majority of applicants end up attending the most "prestigious" school they get into, whether that's good or bad. You can't fault them for that. (Well, I'm sure you can, but...)</p>
<p>Regardless of how we came to the decision, we're going to UCSD now, and that's what binds us.</p>
<p>Class of 2010... I think that sounds pretty nifty, personally.</p>
<p>because i liked the campus a lot, cus its a good school, n cus its not too far from home, but not too close.</p>
<p>I chose UCSD over UCLA! :P My parents fought with me on that one last week before I sent in my SIR. :P</p>
<p>UCSD and I just click. I don't know. I'm not majoring in Bio which is a bummer (which is why my parents didn't want me to go to UCSD) but I don't care. UCSD is a grrrrreat school so I don't think it'll make that much of a difference!</p>
<p>And of course, the beach. Coming from Orange County, I feel UCSD is the perfect distance away from home and the environment is different but not totally different so I won't get homesick. I'm excited! I think it's perfect. :)</p>
<p>vii, you didn't get a rejection letter? Neither did I... I can't help but thinking: What if I didn't check my decision online? I'd be sitting at home wondering whether the heck I got in or not. Or does UCB just not send out rejection letters?</p>
<p>Anyway, UCSD is definitely not the "school-for-people-who-got-rejected-from-UCLA/UCB". Personally, I thought it was a better fit for me over University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, Rice, UCLA, and USC... and I'm pretty sure there are some people that chose it over even bigger schools</p>
<p>college, im begining to think Berkeley doens't give out official rejection letters. i think i'll just print out my online copy and mail it to myself. it's for teh "closure"</p>
<p>No they don't. There's an official statement on their FAQ section on the MyBerkeleyApp thingy..</p>
<p>Lol, so what if we don't have computers? We're just supposed to assume that we're rejected? Like vii was saying, we DID pay $60 for the application. I would at least like to have concrete proof that they took the time to read it... but whatever, I still have my UCSD acceptance letter to treasure</p>

<p>no UCLA or USC or Cal = UCSD</p>
<p>1) no Cal or UCLA. matter of fact, i got rejected two times by Cal already (I attempted an appeal)
2) good location, had to choose between SD and UC Davis. it was kind of a tough choice for a while, but ultimately SD was the better school academically, and probably fit me more. At Davis, I got the allergies with all the pollen in the air.</p>

<p>I applied under Business for Berkeley. There was no reason for me to try an appeal >_></p>
<p>1) No Cal. I pretty much expected it; i put almost 0 effort into high school, im actually lucky that i got into UCSD. Peter Gibbons put it best:
"You see Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care."
Though i figure that i'll have a great work ethic in college since i'll be able to choose what i study and learn.
2) chose SD over SB. I figured SD has better academics and a more metropolitan city. I live really close to nyc now so staying near a large city during college was important to me.</p>
