Lol...discuss specific problems.

Btw, did any one get Monkey for the Chinese calendar problem?

I got monkey! That one got me so frustrated because for some reason, I kept clicking the wrong numbers on my calculator >_<

i didnt knwo waht to do

ya i got monkey..watcha get for the last one?

okay, a couple questions (i can't remember exactly)

~ the one where its like b is a positive constant. when will a^2>b^2

~ a factor of (4c^2-2cd-d^2) - a^2

~ the one where there was like a trapezoid, and there was a length of 40, 45, and 50...and they were like what will it be? less tan 40, 40-45, 45-50, etc (sry bad description)

can't remember any more right now, ill ask later if i do

THANKS

i did it (-inf, -b) and (b, inf)..defintitely not sure
2i think i put the last choice

40-45

The key to that one was to draw a straight line (parallel to the base of the trapezoid) from the upper left corner to the right side. This creates a rectangle with a right triangle on top of it. At this point you know the lengths of two sides of the right triangle (the line you drew is the same length as the base, and the adjacent leg is 5 units because the right side is 50 units and the left side is 45 units). So the length of the hypotenuse is sqrt(5^2 + 40^2) = sqrt(1625) which is between 40 and 45.

I didn't have time to do the number line one or the factor one. In retrospect the number line one was probably stupid easy, I just skipped it because I was scrambling for time and the answers looked complicated. The factor one was probably pretty easy as well. I should have taken ten seconds and just factored the expression. I was thinking about it the wrong way, trying to get the answers given to "fit" into the expression. I ended up guessing on 6 questions due to time pressure, and I was unsure of 2 other answers.

I'm hoping that the curve is very generous and that a -8 is like a 30 or even a 31...

Did anyone else think that the math section was hard? To me, it seemed like the first 25-30 questions were super easy, and then--BAM!--difficult questions.

k, i got a different answer for the b one ((pretty sure i got it wrrong)

btw, i always got monkeys

factor: i got last choice toooo
trapezoid: if ur right, so am i! yayyyy

k ppl ask more so i can if i got it right

and whwat do u guhys think curve will look like/

the law of sines and cosines??? idk where i was screwing up..i put the last choice..how bout u guys?

the stupid problem w/ the photograph arrangements?? no clue

the theater rows increasing by 1 each time?? random guess..forgot how to do it

Was this one of the last six questions? I had to guess on the last six without looking and I don't remember anything about a Chinese calendar. However, I put all Cs/Hs...does anyone remember how many of the last 6 were C/H?

:D

Oh yeah, the photographs question confused the **** out of me. I guessed on that one. I think my answer was the weird arrangement with one little rectangle and a tiny square. I think it was the fourth answer. Obviously the ones that didn't have all the photographs were wrong.

For the theater one I made the semi-intelligent guess of 134 of whatever (the last answer, significantly higher than the other answers). I forget my reasoning but it made some sense.

What about that one where the lady was tiling something or other and they gave three dimensions for the tiles? That one confused me too because the thickness of the tiles is irrelevant.

Ok, im 99% sure its MONKEY
i got 220....so then did 12x8 (to see when the rat was at a certain year)
and the rat was at liek 1780 or something...then just followed pattern

photograph wasn't that bad if u thought about (assuming i did it correctly, which who knows?) but i thought it was D (if my memory is working)...i got one where its jubled a lot, abnd the bottom ones fill the whole width...

theater rows, i did brute force (haha) and got 39

last one i uysed law of cosin...so everything under a square root blah blah blah cos14 or w/e

im incohereny; sorry

Hey ears, how do you think you did on the English section?

:p

yay! thats wat i guessed for law of cosines one...for the photograph one i put the one where the the photos filled the whole sheet except like a inch margin from the top..not sure if that was choice D

I'm pretty sure that choice D was the one with the little square and the little rectangle.

Same difficulty level as December (if you took..). I think it was normal-ish (maybe leaning towards easy) based on practice tests. Mistletoe section=BORING. I actually misjudged time, but didn't have to guess on anything so w/e.

Any specific questions...?

little square and little rectangle?

/ Margin /
/ _____________/
/ /
/ --< boxes/photos-->/
/ /
/
___________ /

wow that was terrible

Yeah, it had a little square of free space in the middle (a bit lower and slightly to the left of middle) and a little rectangle (vertical--long side parallel to the side of the page) on the left.

Can someone explain how they did the Chinese New Year one? I think I did well on all the others.

dang..got that one wrong :(...let see..how bout that one west of north 45 type ?
