For me at least, I thought the test was pretty simple and straightforward. English, Math, and Science I had at least 4 minutes left. I guessed on none.
Nothing was too hard, but I felt the English contained more reasoning questions. I think this threw some kids off, as the English in December was unspeakably easy. Also, did anyone notice the foundation for the science? If I can recall, there were at least four 7+ question passages and only around two 6 question sections???
What do you mean by reasoning questions? Like the stylistic ones? Because imo there were a bit less than I expected. For science, I was expecting the 7 questions so I did those things first.
Anyone here take the writing test? Wasn’t too bad.
I really liked the writing prompt, however I did not find much specific evidence.
kinda confused… what do you guys mean by curve
Well different tests have different curves to balance for difference in difficulty for the section. For example on one test where the science was easier missing one question would give you a 34 so the curve is harsh, on the other extreme you could miss one on a very hard science section and still receive a 36, a generous curve.
I thought English and reading were pretty easy, math was easier than normal, but I still guessed on like 3. Science… I’m not sure, I thought it was easy but then I got to the last passage and I’m not so sure how I did on that one…
Im wondering how you guys handle stress on the test. I usually finish english with like 5 minutes to spare but this time i had to guess on 5 QUESTIONS. It was very difficult for me to focus.
Pretty sure I got perfect 36 on both reading and science, they were both incredibly easy compared to the december test. (especially reading, there was no dumb archaic passage like the one about the musicians in dec)
Math was easier as well, the dec one I had to guess the last 5 because I ran out of time. This one I finished right on time.
Writing was about the same, just i know every point I lost will be from not knowing how to use commas lol.
English seemed pretty normal;I’m guessing at most a -1. Math was easy except for a few toughies, I’m guessing -1/-2. Reading was pretty easy, maybe a harsh curve for that one, and science seemed easy too. For some reason, I got ahead of the clock extremely quickly in reading and science. Especially the first science passage was like a one-minuter >.>
What do you all think a -2 would be for English
My son thought English was moderate, but had to scurry to answer the final 6; Science and Math were about what he expected. Reading was easy; he expects to miss one on that section.
English was moderate, math was horrible (but I am bad at math), reading was easy and science was easy for the most part but I ran out of time on the last passages so I had to hurry and fill in blanks for about 3 of the questions.
Math wasn’t too bad for me. I completely flew through the first half and I was positive about my answers. The last 10 questions were more challenging, but I managed to get through them all and I felt confident. I was bummed because I didn’t notice one of the answers was blank when I was going back to the questions I skipped, so I for sure missed one.
English was okay, Science was the easiest I’ve had so far, and Reading was kinda hard, I really struggled to find the answers (my method of reading the questions first and just looking for the answer in the reading was useless because I ended up having to read the passages when I couldn’t find the answer by skimming). I know I for sure got one wrong on Reading. Oh and I only got one sentence in my conclusion paragraph on the essay… ugh. It was a really long essay besides that. I knew when I was writing the first body paragraph that I was taking too much time.
I got a 31 the past two times I took the ACT and all I want is a 32. Anything higher is amazing. I just need it to increase by something.
@mayukh I used the ACT Black Book (Mike Barrett) and I thought it was really helpful. It made me feel a lot more confident going in. It doesn’t have any practice tests but it does explain many different questions from the Real ACT with explanations that actually help. But more importantly it just gives a lot of helpful information and tips. I think it was a lot more useful than any practice test.
When will scores most likely be posted?

i had to answer the last 10 questions in reading in literally one minute and i think i got them all right!
my score prediction:
E: (-2) 35
M: (0) 36
R: (-2) 34
S: (-6) 30 – if i guessed lucky maybe higher around 31-32
C: maybe 34 if i’m lucky
My son felt this test was much easier than the December test. Said he finished each section with 10 minutes to spare. He feels the math curve especially will be harsh since less difficult than December test. I’m worried his score may not go up if curve is harsh since most here seem to feel this test was much easier. Good luck to everyone, hope you all get your target scores.
