School is almost out, which means I have the entire summer to prepare for either the SAT (in Oct.) or the ACT (in Sep.) (or both). I'm trying to make a study plan, but I'd appreciate it if you guys helped out and gave some suggestions. For example, should I prep for the SAT or the ACT, or both? And how much time should I devote the standardized test prep each day? Keep in mind, as of now, I have a very open schedule and A LOT of free time--meaning I could devote HOURS a day to prep. A sample schedule may be:

Noon to 1: Wake, Cardio Workout, Shower
1 to 130: Lunch
130 to 2: Tan
2 to 4: Test Prep
4 to 6: Free Time
6 to 7: Eat
7 to 9: Test Prep
9 to 11: Workout, Shower
11 to 1AM: Test Prep
1AM to 3AM: Watch a movie/Read
3AM to Noon: Sleep

Of course, this will not be a STRICT schedule; it will be flexible. This is just a rough guideline. Please help me modify it as you see fit.

A great thing about summer is to NOT have to be on such a strict schedule all the time, IMO…

Just build in some time every day, at whatever time you want, to do some ACT/SAT prep… you don’t have to do the same amount of review every day.

Wow…planned out your summer already? I wanted to do something like this (maybe minus the tanning and limiting watching movies to just the weekends), but I am busy for about half of summer, so I’m not sure it would work out too well. However, you should focus on one…its not really beneficial to divert your attention unless you are uncertain as to which you are better at. You should figure this part out before committing a large amount of time studying both when you could do better studying one.

And 2 meals a day? That’s rough for the stomach, especially with the two workouts a day. I generally eat 5 meals a day, not including snacks in between, when I work out. But whatever works for you.

I’ll probably eat six meals a day, but only two will be “sit-down” meals: lunch and dinner. The other four will be meals that I’ll be able to eat while studying simultaneously.

And yes, LameUsername, there is time for hanging out with friends on the weekends and maybe some during the week during my “free time.”

Anyways, whatever schedule I go with will be in place till July, which is when I get my license :). Then all hell breaks loose!

sg12, I’ll definitely involve myself in a plethora of ECs once I get my license in July. However, right now, transportation is a bit of a problem…that’s why I’m focusing on standardized test prep.
