1- does Penn start a file on you once they start receiving materials (such as a recommendation) even if you have not sent in the application fee or application yet??

2- I am doing the Penn application online, and I just saw today that the recommendations can be submitted online. However, I already gave out the envelopes to the teachers who are writing my recommendations, adn they have probably already have been sent. Is it ok if the recommendations are sent in via snailmail (on paper) but the application is submitted via email?

Thanks!

1) i believe so.
2) it's ok. i'm doing the same thing. it says paper rec and online app are ok.

did you notice how on the standardized test section it only goes up to 2006? :(

So if the teachers send it by envelope which mine already did, then do i just leave the recommendation page blank???

I noticed the testing section only goes up to 2006 as well. I'm using the ACT option as I have yet to take subject tests, but when I put in my testing results it didn't allow the selection of this year. Do you think Penn knows this, or will they look at me as an idiot for putting down the closest year instead of the actual?

Someone should point this out to the admissions office so that it can be fixed. Who knows--it might even get you some extra points on your application. :)

good idea! i'll call tomorrow.
i think it's the template from last year. for some of the pages the deadline says november 1, 2006 instead of 2007.

yea i saw that yesterday- did anybody call yet?

Do we submit part one right now if we are not submitting part two for about another week? Is that ok??

yea i think that should be fine
