wow...the Texas Tech Fin Aid Office is pretty bad.... they are probably the slowest of all 5 of the schools i applied to get things done....i still would have not recieved any information from them if i didnt call....they said they emailed me last month with things i need to send in to them....lucky i dont delete anything...and i know that this was not the case....i actually really want to go to TTU...but not knowing my financial aid package until possibly after may is not good when thats very important in my decision (sadly)....

so fyi for anyone needing aid for college and thinking about texas tech....good luck...lol

i cant beileve UT is actually efficient in supplying me with information more than ttu which has a lot less people

kbfunkymonkey - I share your pain; but in another area - housing. A couple years ago it took several attempts to get the Tech computer system and people in housing to accept a housing preferences documents. Once you are "safely over the hump", feedback to the financial aid director at TTU about your experience would be worthwhile. I e-mailed and called the Housing officials about my concerns.

Yeah, but you know what, this teaches us responsibility. You have to call them constantly, everyday. That's what I did.

I really want to go to Tech too. I decided to go there while I was still estimating on how much financial aid I was going to receive. I want to go to Tech so badly, that I told the University of Chicago, Baylor, and Boston that I decided to attend another university. I denied my acceptance.

Maybe I will regret that...but, I hope my financial aid package will cover everything. One thing that bothers me is that U.S. Today ranked Texas Tech in the third tier on the national scale, I know they have a lot of programs that out-do all the others, even the Ivy League.

After attending Tech, for my graduate studies, I'll be studying abroad at Oxford. So, I mean, I'll still have money for my graduate studies! So, financially, socially, and academically, Tech is the best. Although, one bad thing, not very diverse.

It's alright, I'll overlook the untimely manner at which they process our applications, I mean, com'on, they have over 30,000 undergraduates, you gotta expect some delay. I believe they are doing a good job.
