since fiat lux seminars are taken on a pass/no pass basis only, and many graduate schools translate a pass to a C, will taking a fiat lux be detrimental to your grad school application GPA?

you can also add an addendum on your grad school application saying the fiat lux was pass/no pass ONLY.

whereas for some other classes, you have the choice of taking it for a letter grade or with P/NP. that's where they'll probably hurt you by giving you a C for a 'pass.'

but i'm not 100% sure about this.

Yea, I'm pretty sure for a class with ONLY the option of pass/nopass, the grade will not be translated to a C. The C issue only comes into play when you take a traditional class with traditional grading, and you choose to change your grade to pass/nopass.
