Fights in high school...

I don't see how everyone finds fights to be so entertaining. Most of the time, the fighters are just kids who don't even know how to fight, but rather want to make a scene to try to raise their status. Also, it bugs me that freshmen are so eager to be at the scene of a fight, to the point of rushing off the bus to watch.

What would you do if someone wanted to fight and was shoving you, but you knew a fight would create a big situation that would need to be explained when applying to colleges (even if it wasn't your fault, you know how schools are)? Would you fight them, or what?

I think most people are just bored. The fight gives people something to do.

My mom’s always told me that I can’t start the fight, but I can finish it. So if this person hit me first, I would probably hit back. I’d probably be so mad that I wouldn’t even be thinking about what the consequences are. Lol.

My school had only one fight this year. Years previous there was always a fight. Since the past two classes graduated the school has calmed down a lot. If someone hit me I would probably fight back because my school has a zero tolerance policy, meaning that both parties are automatically suspended even if you didn’t hit back. Best to get my moneys worth. You can also be arrested depending on the severity of the fight and the administrations request.

^ What if it comes to the point that you are arrested for assault after fighting back?

A moderate number of fights occur at my school, but I rarely see any since I usually hang out away from the cafeteria.

Some fights occur at my school. A kid brought a gun to school as well and shot through his pants on the bus, or else that could have been a bigger issue… ;l

first post from Dubai

LOL!!! you should come to my school. Like seriously. There’s at least 2 fights that break out every week on average it’s ridiculous. Half of the time it’s between the somali guys vs. the black guys lol…but i gotta say…it’s always entertaining to watch haha

Personally, I’ve been extremely close to getting into fights with some black girls over stupid arguments because one of them because opne of them decides to call me a ***** then i proceed to tell her something back like she’s a stupid stuck up ***** herself and she can go shove an ugly stick up her ass and some other nasty comments ahaha…but I wouldn’t want to physically fight them only because i wouldn’t want to risk getting suspended or having the girl end up in the hospital–otherwise i totally woouldn’t mind “beating the **** out of her” like i once regrettfully said and got threatened to fight the girl’s other friend (who was obviously stronger). :/

My school has had at least 3 bomb threats that i know of and the police are constantly patrolling around the school.

^My school is pretty bad with fights too. We had two stabbings this year: one at school that started in one of the bathrooms and one at the stoner park across the street from school on the night of the homecoming football game.

I’ve never seen a fight.

I think we’re discussing physical fights here, which are extremely rare (I’ve attended for three and a half years) at my school seeing as the student body consists of all females.
The ‘fights’ that my school is prominent in is those backstabbing/friendship drama ones.

My school has about 1-2 known fights a year; they really are rare occurrences and usually happen off campus where the school cannot do anything about it.

A friend of mine (not really that close) was suspended for being in a fight. He was the instigator and I believe he was suspended for tormenting/harassing another student and fighting another student. How do colleges view that? How will that affect his chances at colleges?

The biggest “fight” “at” my school was when this dear overacheiver gal was held at gunpoint by a 12 year old neighborhood kid when she was coming to school way, way too early. The kid, of course, had no idea what he was doing. This girl, who was trained in martial arts, had a very good idea of what she was doing. She quickly disarmed and incapacitated the kid.

Besides that, so-called fights mostly consist of a few guys shoving each other for a while. It creates minor excitement, usually only happens at first lunch/where 7th and 8th graders are present, and is forgotten after 5 minutes. One exception was a fight between two 7th grade girls, when I was 7th grader, over the attentions of a senior who probably regarded them at best, as little sister types, at a mediocre level, as annoyances, and at worst, as humans do most harmless microbes (ie: not at all). There was blood and hair all over the changing room floor after.

Fights at my (Montessori) elementary school were a huge deal. Not so much among students, but more among teachers and IAs, who would use the event for a massive lecture on 1) Being a pacifist 2) Not suffering from bystander effect. However, I punched a kid in the face once and didn’t get in any trouble. I lied and said I didn’t. I was an angel in my teacher’s eyes, so the administrators believed me. He completely deserved it. I got compliments on having done so for years afterward. People would walk up, 7 years later and say “thanks.”

To the OP: You’re a girl aren’t you?

To quote Fallout: “War. War never changes. Since the dawn of human kind, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything, from God to justice to simple, psychotic rage.”

Nah… forget that. It’s just fun to watch.

One time at my school, a fight broke out because this guy criticized another guy for the way he ate his nachos…

There’s usually a couple fights a year at my school but they’re usually over incredibly stupid things. Idk why I watch, lol, but I guess it’s kind of a form of entertainment (although that sounds horrible, lol)

we have fights in my school at least once every week. they aren’t really entertaining anymore, they just get in the way. except in the last week of school there was one during lunch…it was perfect. these two guys who were already in day suspension for fighting were sitting in a booth on the balcony and they just start mauling each other, and they even attacked the teachers who tried to stop it.

My school doesn’t have may fights, but our administration is crazy when they do. There were like five or six fights in the first two weeks of school (mostly freshman >_>) and our principal actually called each grade down for a meeting. He said no matter what, he would personally call the police if there was a fight. He said not only would both people be arrested, but so would anyone who stopped to watch. Idiotic right?

Luckily I work in the office so I get the details on all the fights and such.

I’m a guy, Gryffon…

My school doesn’t even have to call the police. We already have our own officers in the school. SMH. :(

There has never been a fight at my school. Well I take that back. I guess there are some in boys’ dorms, but that’s pretty different [one kid broke his roommate’s nose after a fight, though. He moved to a dif dorm]. At my previous jr. high, there were a couple off-campus that I heard about [I hated that school though], and at the one before that there were never any fights [and it was a combination middle school/high school].

ahhh high school

memories

realize that when people are in high school, they dont know much, and are just swayed by their surrounds or emotions

dont take it seriously, its all a big joke but it feels real while you’re in it

read this in a few years if you dont believe me
