Does UCLA actually monitor the network for illegal downloads and report them or simply respond to notifications of illegal file sharing? The website is somewhat unclear about whether or not they actually monitor for it or just respond when a copyright holder files a complaint. I have a website that has measures in place that prevent copyright holder's from getting a hold of IP addresses. I mostly use it when I miss an episode of the office(I also buy the DVDs so the copyright holder isn't exactly losing money)or Dexter(Showtime).

It's rumored and suggested that DC++ isn't susceptible to it.

Based off my own experience, they don't monitor. They merely respond if a network finds out you illegally downloading their movies/shows. The networks monitor the torrent lists and they report what they find to UCLA. UCLA hands out the information and we get in trouble. That seems like how it goes.

I don't bother to download. Just watch them online.

That's a big no no to quality freaks like me! But yes, for the majority of people, watching online is totally fine.
