Film Production Admission Status

Early January, I think. I don’t remember exactly…

They started sending out notifications?
My webadvisor still says decision pending…

mine still says decision pending.

what were your stats? (those who got accepted)

My webadvisor says “decision complete”=rejected?
…**** I’m scared…for those accepted does it change to admission approved? or what?

Stats for my D were 3.55 unweighted in a very competitive, top rated East Coast public high school (2 AP’s plus mostly honors classes), 2140 SAT’s (790 English, 740 writing, 610 math and SAT II’s 710 English, 670 Math I) & has had 3 films accepted in 10 film festivals and has won some film awards. Good EC’s in different aspects of the arts.

Her application was in early, (Oct 20th), and was pretty much complete at that point except for mid-year grades, which just went out a few weeks ago.

It seems there is a difference between “Admissions Approved” and “Decision Complete” but you might want to call the admissions office and ask them about that. I wish you the best of luck though!

For those accepted - it seems packages take a while to come - around 2 weeks…??? Has that been the norm?

The waiting is stressful, so hopefully more decisions will be coming out soon.

Yes packet took FOREVER. Stats here: 3.8 GPA, 32 ACT, student council prez, good film portfolio, great recs. Submitted on Oct. 15ish got letter this past Tues.

Good luck to everyone who applied!

If you don’t mind me asking, did you get a scholarship?

Yes, I did. I think it’s called the chancellor scholarship. I was surprised.

My web advisor changed toadmission approved this afternoon. I am EA Graphic Arts.
I am really excited.

Rejected by Dodge, but Chapman is offering me a second chance…I just need to switch my major (which I was planing to do anyway)
Good luck to the rest of you!

Mine just changed yesterday to Decision Complete. I guess I am just waiting for the mail now to see what that means…

so a “Decision Complete” is a rejection?

Not necessarily…it could mean something else.

hi andrewgc…
has “decision pending” changed yet? My D has same thing…still waiting

FYI - Acceptance package w/scholarship info came 1 week after web advisor notification.
Web Advisor notification 2/15
Package arrived in NJ 2/22

Maybe things are speeding up…?

Out of curiosity, what kind of package did they offer? And what other schools have you applied to?

yep still waiting

extremely frustrating, I wonder, is it going alphabetically?, cause I’m pretty lose to the end then

I doubt that they’d go in alphabetical order, but they might. I think they are sending all the decisions out around this time though.

I still have got no letter, it’s been 6 days since the change on webadvisor.

SanDiegoParent -
My D also applied to Emerson (accepted), NYU, USC, Wesleyan, Syracuse and some other schools which were safety schools and they don’t really factor into the decision making process at this point since she got into Chapman and Emerson. We’ve only heard from Emerson & Chapman so far and Chapman is really high up on her list.

Their scholarships are pretty good as well, if you qualifiy academically. She got the Chancellors scholarship, which is $20,000/year. They range from about 15,000 - 25,000 depending on GPA and SAT scores. There is also a talent scholarship that hasn’t been sent out yet, for about $2,000/year I think.

Sorry, but I’ll do what nobody did for me last year. Decision complete=rejected

I’m %100 sure it means rejected (at least from your first choice major)

Again, I’m sorry…But I wish someone would have done it for me.
