hahahaha awesome. “The College Confidential Crew”…Coming to a campus near you this September(or is it august?)

Quick question for anyone who has an answer(and even people who don’t.) If by some wicked twist of fate we are not accepted, is there anyway to like petition or…?

How do we do it? What do we say? And who is the best person to talk to? What are the chances of actually having a decision overturned? Not that I’ve been rejected (…Yet…Thank God) I just want to do a little preproduction on the appeal process.

Good question. I don’t have an answer but maybe somebody should call and ask. Meanwhile, they should also ask about what’s going on in their offices.

linsper, you’re so popular in the USC thread. I’m stuck on the same status update on both schools, USC and Chapman. Come on!

one-way-I don’t think I’m that popular. I just keep posting because it distracts me from the miserable wait. I’m also on the LMU transfers thread on their forum here. =P

jcarroll6-I like the “The College Confidential Crew” idea. It’s a nice, catchy name. I’m thinking Chapman starts at the end of August because isn’t orientation somewhere a few weeks before? Yeahh…and I don’t know much about the appeal process. I would call.

Anybody know the address of like the drama department at Chapman?

I need to drop something off their but have no idea where to go.

Sorry to keep bombarding you guys with questions and bad humor :)

I live in NY so I’m not that much help. I found their phone numbers and email address though…

So I called the office of admissions for USC today and they said sometime in June we will all get letters haha of course after we have already had to answer to every other school …haha…has anyone else heard of anyone hearing anything from Chapman?

Sometime in June?! Gosh USC, make us wait a little more. Tsk tsk…

No updates as far as acceptances goes with Chapman.

Hmmmmm Bummer…I have like 10 more days to respond to my other school its killing me…

Man, all I want is an answer from Chapman. Come on, Chapman. Come on!

Well, I had to respond to this one college by May 1st. I did and I paid my $250 for enrollment. I made my Fall schedule yesterday. At least I have somewhere if I don’t get in. But I want Chapman!!!

Just went to Chapman today sooo coool

Yes, Chapman is cool. This waiting game is not cool, sooo not cool.

I didn’t even get to see Chapman in person yet, only LMU. Blahhh…is the film school huge? Tell us what you saw.

^
The film school is relatively big…not as big as USC’s but it kinda takes up like a block i guess?
Its nice

Dodge College is a block or two away from the main campus and it’s basically one building; Marion Knotts Studios. It’s looks exactly as it does in pictures. Inside, it’s beautiful, both to the layman and filmmaker.

The first floor consists of the front desk, equipment and facilities, audition rooms and everything else I can’t currently remember. The second floor consists of classrooms, editing suites, and faculty offices. The building also consists of the motion capture stage which was designed by Warner Bros. Studios. I believe the foley room is upstairs and includes some excellent resources.

Since Dodge College is isolated from the main campus, I feel like it gives the students a little more freedom. Although it’s still apart of Chapman and only a few steps away from the main campus with the other schools within the college, the separation allows students to experience freedom. I think this will be especially important when working on projects with classmates.

All in all, it’s an excellent campus, both for academics and filmmaking. For these reasons, I believe Chapman University is the right choice for me. It will, therefore, be an honor to be accepted to your institution. Now, please, update my status.

That sounds amazing. Warner Bros Studios? Wowww, that just says professional right there. Very informative. Thanks for the short essay, one-way. This makes me even more excited to see if I get in. I would love for my status to say Admission Approved right about now. That would be a dream come true.

Yeah, I feel like my status page is broken. I feel like it’s forever stuck on this update.

Honestly, it was either Warner Bros. Studios who designed it or Robert Zemeckis. Either way, it is better than you can imagine. I wish I was more into digital techonology and motion capture because it not only does it look amazing, you’ve got everything you need right in your school! I’m almost certain it was Warner Bros. though! I’ll try double checking.

Okay, I checked their website. It says the foley stage is designed by Warner Bros. I honestly believe somebody, probably Zemeckis, had something to do with the motion capture stage. Maybe not though, or else it would have been listed, but still… Warner Bros. foley stage is excellent!

Also, I don’t know if you guys knew, but they’re planning on designing a New York and Paris backlot near the film school. This way, the students can shoot “on location” in these cities. I honestly think that’s amazing and fell in love with this idea. Unfortunently, I heard about this more than a year ago and as of now, they still have not started work. I hear they have purchased the lot though, so it may be completed within a few years.

One-ways novel describes it perfectly. Today it was about 80 (nice lil breez blowing in from the west), everyone just cruising around in shorts and tshirts, chill laid back atmosphere.

I would say LMU has a better looking campus, and of course the views of LA are amazing, but when I went their about a month ago, everybody just kind of had a snobby stuck up attitude (including the ■■■■■■■ security guard).
